@Wurm The video's in 360p because MMOCulture (god bless 'em, they do good work) got the video from a Chinese Youtube clone. It's not the company's fault.

Wow... Just... Unbelievable.
I heard stuff about the game before but I always remained skeptical about it, but this trailer certainly changed my perspective.
Being able to understand Korean, it was much more awesome listening to some of the stuff the guys were talking about... maybe it can really break the mold of the '2nd generation' MMOs (like WoW) and enter a 3rd generation with sandbox and themepark mix... who knows...
Archeage just took priority in my MMO list.

@PaperSpeaks

Feel free to clue us in on some of what was said. I'm trying to find someone to translate it for me as we speak, hehe.

@Jef Reahard
Right,
the first guy is talking about the 2nd generation gaming at first, the example he gave was lineage, and how it enhanced player experience but was limited in an aspect of freedom since they were 'guided' by the developers into a certain path, also called 'themepark' then he goes on to talk about how their game IS 3rd generation and it involves changing the world - sandbox essentially although he doesn't use the term. He states that the same plot of land in different servers can be different.

The woman is talking about the lore and states that 2000 years ago 12 ancestors searched for a paradise of some sort (I'm not too sure about this part since she uses terms I don't understand). And that the players, who are descendants will affect the world in a similar way.

3rd speaker is in english so...

the 4th speaker is talking about the different things that users can do, like building, making a castle and fighting a clan war in it, or making a boat and fighting with it, then he states that the following clips show the different things that they can do in game.

the last guy is speaking Chinese so I don't understand.

@Valentina The video was not uploaded by the company. It was uploaded by the dude who runs MMOculture. I assume quality was lost somewhere in between.

A Korean game that is not a soul crushing grind would be refreshing. Looks very open and big, with lot's of toys. Crafting that includes ships and housing is very nice. Looks like a huge project though, would not expect it any time soon.

@donweel

Tencent is a Chinese company, not Korean.

I'm uploading an HD version of the video right now, Jef. It's 20% up at the moment and will probably take an hour or so before it's ready (connection from Korea is about 1/3 my max speed plus Youtube is slow today).

Cool! Mail me a link when it's done and I'll throw it in there. jef@massively.com The 'unverified' is an ongoing issue we're having. Unfortunately we don't have control over the site code to fix it at this point.

@Jef Reahard Aww, oh well. I guess I'll just grin and bear it. It's kinda unique, really. I don't see too many other people with the same username...

And I'll send the link to you as soon as it's done. Video's at 43% atm.

Possibly at some point) houses/villages/castles! Wish i read/write Korean so I could follow this more closely get in on the early beta...
