Sidescrolling free-to-play games aren't everyone's cup of tea, but the genre has enjoyed something of a renaissance in recent years. Grand Chase is hoping to stand out a bit more from the crowd, however, with the game's upcoming major content update. Rebranding the game as Grand Chase Chaos, the update comes hand-in-hand with many of the features one would expect to see for a large patch, including the almost mandatory level cap increase along with some more unique features.
The more fundamental changes to gameplay will come from allowing players to equip two weapons at once, as well as the new Fusion system to allow combining two items into a new one. Monster AI is also being improved to be more challenging, while dungeon flow is getting streamlined and rewards are being better displayed. SG Interactive is planning to release a trailer highlighting the changes in a week, but until then, we have a gallery including a few as-yet-unseen pieces of concept art.

I'm starting to think all the updates that could be done for Elsword are going here. With this game, you get tons of unlockable characters, classes, constant (mostly cash shop...) updates and events... yet Chung still doesn't have his last class changes, and they only have 6 characters in Elsword.
Not that it's a bad thing. Elsword has that stamina system, and Grand Chase probably has a TON more support because of lacking stamina. That way people can EXP a characte whenever, for however long they want. If that's the case, imagine how much of a runaway success that Vindictus and Dungeon Fighter Online would be without stamina...
Not saying this is why, but still. Grand Chase is the Daddy of Elsword, and constantly gets more updates than Elsword. It's weird, to say the least.

If you like Elsword so much, why are you looking up GrandChase info?
Elsword is GrandChase, only a fairly obvious, cheap attempt at a money grab. It spawned abominations such as Dio, Ley and Zero in GC, characters inspired by Elsword. The same act postponed the creation of more skill trees and more character jobs. If you want to talk about a game taking away support from another game, talk about a cash grabbing attempt (Elsword) taking away support from a well structured, free to play, unlimited (no stamina cost) .. obviously Grand Chase.
Yes, I agree, a fair amount of the events are cash based events (new items etc), but they have to keep the servers online somehow, and GC hardly rely on underhanded "pay to play per match" tricks, like Elsword will. But then you also have to look at the sheer amount of cash freebies so many events give to players who actually attend the events. Heck, theres even a free Sealbreaker weekend on right now, giving like 2$ of stuff out to each player, and over a few thousand players. They are being fairly generous for those that dont pay.
As for your last point, it being "odd" that a game with a small playerbase (Elsword), is being out-patched by a long serving game with a large playerbase (Grandchase) is absurd. When an MMO stops getting updates, it dies.
Yes, I do have a bias against Elsword, but mainly because it is forcing a fair bit of the GC community to quit and move to Elsword, soley because work put into Elsword, is draining work put into Grandchase. Updates that many people want, Avatar cards, Weapon Changes, GC Chaos, 5th Jobs (lol, looooong time before that comes out, but hey, Elsword is wasting that time so its worth a mention), Second Job Skill Trees (also a long time, but again, Elswords fault), Character revamps that -DONT- suck (refer to arme and lire revamps). The list could go on, but Elsword is postponing me from writing it. :P
