Sounds more like the ten commandments of gankers, a-holes, and L33T.

"Thou shalt teabag they kills".

That tells you all you'll ever know about the crowd this game is going for. Gonna be fun to watch this one burn out in 6 months or less.

I agree sadly. Frankly, by and large the problem with PVP in nearly every game in my opinion isn't the mechanics, it isn't some concept of broken balance and it isn't the content. It's the deplorable, e-peen powered bad attitudes of the participants trash talking and being general asshats to all and sundry.

Concepts like manners, and god forbid, sportsmanship seem utterly forgotten on the Internet. A pity, I feel it would be much better all round if people could showed more respect for their opponents. Win, lose or draw, without the other side you just don't have a match. Even the traditional "gg" remark doesn't seem to happen any more.

@(Unverified) Oh come on, they're obviously trying to be funny and satirical of that very crowd. Im not sure if thats the best way to lure those who wouldn't find themselves in this play style, but hey.

pfft. You guys take things so seriously. It's obviously intended as parody.

I've been playing this game since alpha and am having a blast. It definitely needs work and polish, but the devs are literally adding to it and/or patching on a weekly basis, communicate frequently with their tester community (this isn't a game where only the CM posts on the boards - many of the devs and even QA chime in on the boards on a regular basis) and are passionate about what they're doing.

The concept of the game is sound, the pvp combat is fun (I love gliding in and dive-bomb ambushing an opponent), the skill effectiveness system is pretty elaborate, performance gets better every patch and the item shop is anti-pay to win. It's also very easy for the casual player to still be competitive, even for free.

With work, system tweaking and polish, I think Faxion's going to be pretty awesome, especially when I've seen how far it's come since November.

Here's a link to their lastest patch preview for new systems being implemented:

I think this is pretty funny actually, and this game is marketed for straight up pvpers so I don't see the big deal.

Does anyone know if this game is fun?

while funny, I have to admit it reminds me of why I don't PVP. I typically play healers, spending more time dead than alive just isn't fun.

I have played two Free-to-plays with open-world PvP (one to max level) in the last year or so and was stunned by how few gankers there were.

Even though the systems in place were broken (you could buy your criminal status away with in-game gold) very few folks bothered to PvP at all.

Other than games designed for hardcore PvP (sever death penalties, player looting, etc.) I think PvP is a bit of an overstated worry for most players.

Looks like the 12 year-old anti-social ganker demographic will have a home for while... until the game collapses due to having pinned their hopes on the long-term success on 12 year-old anti-social gankers for building a community.

@PhelimReagh

So sick of this crap.. I am a father of two and a business owner. I play Darkfall, Mortal Online and any other hardcore pvp game. If you don't like pvp don't play, but quit putting people down that do. Some of the most immature people I meet in games have always been in PVE theme park games.

@PhelimReagh In PvP games, just like PVE games, they're a small minority of of the overall population, but they're also visible due to a need for attention.

It's really no different than somebody trolling public chat channels in WoW (or any game, for that matter) or teleporting newbies off the top of a high-rise tower in CoH.. Jerks will be jerks. The good news is that a PvP game with a healthy population has tools for dealing with them:

1) Ignore them in chat (almost universally available in MMOs and too often an unused feature)

2) Kill them and spoil their fun - level 60 killing newbies in a low level zone - turn it into a game. Get a gang of players of various levels and hunt him down (definitely possible in Faction).

Wow guys, sounds like pvp left a bad taste in alot of your mouths. That was funny as hell, just take it for what it is, a joke.

Actually I'm not sure what's funnier, The 10 Commandments of PvP or all the hurt souls posting about their bad pvp experiences.

@Xavious I don't mind taunting or tame trash talk. It's part of competition and I enjoy that. I don't enjoy immature little snots who call people "Faggot" and have no kind of decency. It's called bad sportsmanship.

When I've never heard of your game and your trying to sell it, posting "laws of pvp" as joke that only appeal to bad pvpers does not strike my fancy. It shows what kind of people you are trying to attract.

I love PvP, I'm extremely competitive, but I don't like playing with others who are out of my league with their teabaggin' and pwn'n.

Theres always a little truth in a joke.
