Yeah, how dare they allow you to choose your own way to play the game. Instead, there should be a linear quest line you have to follow, on a linear path, fighting linear enemies. Oh wait, look, I'm playing a typical single player game. Some of these comments are unbelievably f*cking daft. It seems joystiq has a huge population of people who see WoW and go berserker.

Lol herbs are peaceful xp. Yeah man, World of Lovecraft. Oops, that's Cthulhu and very murderous. Smoke those pipes of peace, yeah. Spread the love between the Horde and the Alliance.

Look, I love WoW just as the next player, but life isn't all about WoW. It was a big "duh" that you can now level just by gathering now when they implemented it. Do they seriously want to get into the Guiness Book of World Records THAT bad?

Its not really the impressive. Gathering nodes give a lot of experience and is a new feature for cataclysm so was just a matter of time before someone "grinded it out".

The no kill, no dying feats are newsworthy, this isn't. Heck if she did any herbing at all during the whiptail re-spawn rate bug then this is even less of a feat. Since it would have been easy to gain tons of experience at that time with minimal effort.

Forgot to add that as a druid it is even easier once you hit 60 and get flying. Druids can gather herbs in flight form so with the ability to buy 310% speed for flying mounts it isn't even amazing to do it past 60.

"by grinding"

Can someone explain to me why grinding is fun? Anyone? Bueller?

Beats me. I love to grind in RPG's, not necessarily MMO's.

Even I can't tell you why I enjoy it. I just do.

I love grinding for some reason, at least in games that I really, really enjoy. I think it's the same reason I usually like fishing in MMOs: I get to be somewhere pretty, doing something relaxing and visually appealing, while listening to music I like and letting my mind wander.

Because it is basically dry humping on the dance floor.

I have this chick (online friend) that I have been playing games with for about 4 years, and we have a never ending argument on grinding. She finds it very fun, it bores me to tears.

We have literally argued about this non-stop for 4 years across proably 10 different mmoish games.

I think the thing I enjoy most from this story are the people who come out going "What a waste of time!" as if MMOs and video games in general were anything but.

I guess this is what it takes to make WoW interesting to play these days.

Their activity feed also shows them obtaining several heirlooms that aid experince gathering as well as a blue item that comes from a rare spawn. So either they bought it off the AH or they were part of a group, and thus got XP from the kill.
