I'll surely be picking this up when it comes out, but 5 hours in line to play for....how long was each session??....umm....no. Would not be how I would spend my time at PAX East if I had the chance to go. I guess I'm just not that *cough* dedicated.

I love MMO's, played since UO but I have a hard time identifying with the people in the video. 1000 mile drive to play a demo? Hours in line? Guess im not a convention person.

@zangarth - Well hearing how long people had to wait, & then hearing how much they loved it, made me wonder how much psychology was in play here. If you love the star wars franchise (who doesn't), and you had to wait hours to play something, and you have already concluded it to be awesome in your mind before you started playing it.... it would have to be awesome right?

I want this game to succeed just as much as anyone, but I think a better part of the people in that line were wearing rose tinted glasses.

As someone who was at PAX East, I don't think SWTOR was the "highlight".
They were giving people 45 min sessions, of course the line got out of control.

@Gildas

in your opinion, what was the "highlight"?

@Halldorr

Everything was pretty balanced and democratic, a variety of cool games on display in close proximity, nothing stole the show or anything per se.

I will say though that the reason why I went on the day I did (I went on Friday) was to see Reckoning (which I missed :/ ). Based on what the relatively small group of people that were able to see the game in action are saying, that probably would have been my personal highlight.

And another thing, just to mention, I was really surprised with the amount of MMOs that were on display. I didn't even know that games like Dragon Nest and Firefall were going to be there, and I wasn't aware that people really even knew about them. Nexon had a much bigger showing than I expected, I was a little surprised to see them there actually. Maybe in a sense "MMOs" were the highlight of the event. I wouldn't say any particular one, but in general.

A lot of people are going to be disappointed. Not that it'll be bad, just it won't be so insanely amazing that they think. Also, it can't be that much better than any other mmo dungeon that you have to wait 8 hours to play it.

Star Wars: The Old Republic for it's sake better launch before Guild Wars 2. In all honesty my decision on which to invest time and money on is whichever releases first.

GW2 has no sub fee, so you can play both.

Time and money being key. I don't have enough free time to devote to two MMOs.

@BigAndShiny If you're talking about GW2, then No....nobody is going to be disappointed...trust me...everything ANet is saying the game is going to be, it will be, until then, we won't see it. And we have no reason to expect more than they say.

@Caskio Give it a year...it'll be more than a word....it'll probably be a goddamn religion.

@Faction 3
The Bible of GW2 will read as follows:
On the first day Colin Johanson said "Let there be no more repetitive sword swinging, boring grinds or dull npc text" And it was good.
