It's time for another in-depth look at New Eden's thriving economy, and as you'd expect in a game built around interminable conflict, business is booming. CCP's resident economist, Dr. Eyjólfur Guðmundsson, is back with the latest EVE Online Quarterly Economic Newsletter (QEN), and while it's a bit on the old news side for those lucky enough to attend last month's Fanfest where it was initially presented, the trends, observations, and raw data are still relevant for the rest of us.
In a nutshell, keep killing your friends and neighbors, as the constant bloodletting is integral to New Eden's economic well-being. "Warfare and the EVE Online economy thrive on each other. Without warfare there is very little consumption in EVE Online and without a strong economy (and lots of personal wealth) wars can't be won," Guðmundsson explains.

Heh.
Supercap proliferation up by 224.00% .
...472 titans and 449 black ops being piloted.
At the same time high-sec population is 79.6% of the total and null sec population is 11.2%

Don't forget, though, they only take those ship measurements by who is sitting in ship at the time of measurement. And since a Titan pilot can't really live the Titan, and a Black Ops pilot can, it doesn't exactly give a perfect picture of how many ship types are in use. It's more of a snapshot "in the moment."

@Rindon
Of course, it's a crap statistic since it's based on a static snapshot.
Still - the amount of supercaps is just stupid.

I agree about the number of supercaps being stupid. Its easier than ever to make money in 00 so maybe that has something to do with it? The hubs that is?
As for black ops, I disagree about them being used for fleet warfare. More like the ultimate in ganking or gurrilea warfare. I remember flying with Burn EDen back in the day and they made very good use of black ops, so good to the point people would be too scared to engage them.

They're not useless, but for how much they cost, you'd be better off in any number of other ships. They need serious work.
