the it's kinda funny that you picked that name for this.

"Strawman" is actually a term for a logical fallacy, where in you take a symbolic representation of something and defile it. Flag burning / effigy burning in the middle east is generally the most notorious instance of this in modern times ...

I know your more making a reference to the Wizzard of oz when you picked out that name, but I though it kinda ironic that what your using it for CAN be referenced to be something almost completely different in that strawman actions are universally used for someone that people think is a profound villain.

... then again, the whole reason people do that is because because the individual they view as a villain is almost immortal in how powerless they are to directly retaliate to against him/her: and thus they burn a strawman.

You're just kidding, right?
Because the author was definitely using the word strawman as one would use in the term "strawman argument".

"Oh, the archetype name? Science shows "Strawman" is the most awesome name ever. It certainly means nothing in any debates, and you needn't bother looking it up on Wikipedia or anything. Seriously, you shouldn't even bother."

Mm-hm.

By the way, check your calendar. *cough*

Sounds like the classic description of a Mary Sue character.

(now, let's see if it's still saying I'm unverified... stupid AOL messaging system...)

I always knew this archetype by a different name... It's always fun when you deal with someone that has to be "Mr. Awesome" all of the time.

It's odd, I ranted about something similar recently, with all of the talk about hybrid classes and how players want to have mix-and-match roles of awesome, it seems like games are being made to cater to having more of these lately.
