"Greetings Star Wars Galaxies players! Zatozia has been a part of your community for quite some time and not only brought mountains of feedback to the Development team, but created some exciting forum activities as well. She has truly made the Star Wars Galaxies community stand out among our products, and we wish her well as she moves to other games within SOE.We look forward to hearing from Mepps and seeing how he fares in a galaxy far, far away.
"At this time we would also like to introduce your new Community Manager Mepps. An MMO veteran, he looks forward to working with you all and making Star Wars Galaxies one of the best MMO communities to be a part of. Look for him to say hello in the very near future."
In a week of transition for SOE, Star Wars Galaxies is changing things up as well. It appears that Community Manager Lydia "Zatozia" Pope is moving to other titles in SOE, making way for her replacement:

No one can ever say there isn't a female Pope.

I wish her luck and feel sorry for her at the same time. SWG has some of the scariest overly dramatic wingnuts for players. It’s like Jared Lee Loughner and Dale Gribble decided to start a family. I’m so glad that Bioware has already sent the message on how that sort of BS will not be tolerated in TOR.

Why was Zantom downrated? Im curious what was meant as well. I dont play SWG so have no clue if something more is going on than is being told.

That's actually a pretty cool oneshot pic... "All the Stormtroopers were kung fu fighting ay-yaa!"

Your link to a later article detailing April Fool's jokes I think is set up wrong : It leads to the Announcements Forum and I can't find "Doctor Fool", but I did check up on the announcement about Mepps and his introduction...
...and I am not entirely convinced this is "for real" after reading that intro.
"Playing golf and ripping people's arms out?"
I mean, I do see some sincerity and maybe a real change is ill-timed and the "jokes" Mepps tells is a bit...."full-scale nerdish" to be considered "odd" by laymen.
