If its a farm kill or you know, one that isnt a problem for anyone, or if im Frapsing it, its usually a lamb of god playlist, but their older stuff, not the latest crap. So some of these:

Ashes of the Wake:

ODHGABFE:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPMjfL_ELjY

Laid to Rest:

If its a new boss, or simply one we havent quite got down yet, then music just goes off because teamspeak is more important.

Yay bonus points.

anything from Volbeat is gud. My mantra for music is "if it's too loud, your too old!"

Depends on the genre. For example, most superhero games I go with something by John Williams, Danny Elfman, or from the DCAU. Shooter games, there are bits from the Iron Man soundtracks I like, Battlestar Galactica soundtracks ("Prelude to War", anyone?) and, natch, the Halos. Sometimes no music at all, especially if I'm playing EVE and need to listen to voice comms. And then there's games whose internal soundtracks are all I need - Ghostbusters, for example.

While I have maybe once played music other than the game's during boss fights, I find it too difficult to concentrate without hearing the game sounds. Matter of fact I tend to react to game sounds more than visuals so I tend to just use the plain ole game music.

That might explain why the MMOs with kick ass soundtracks are the ones I love more than any others. Then again, I suppose if I have been grinding a certain boss for so long I could fight him blind, then I would throw up some music. All depends on my mood, so to stay in the spirit of this article, I suppose I would listen to some songs from Queensryche. All of their albums up to Empire just rock.

I don't actually play music in raids often as even if I know the fight really well personally I generally have to inform others during raids and so can't have music pumping.

I don't usually play music during boss fights if I'm with a group. Between being nervous enough and having to listen for instructions over vent, it just doesn't work. For fights when I'm playing alone, though:

I guess I'm weird. I can't stand listening to other types of music, especially ones with lyrics while playing a game. However, if theres no music or I know a song that fits really great, I would play it. For example, for Red Dead Redemption, I'd play The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly's theme sometimes.

I also hate youtube videos of someone playing a game playing their own music over the video.

But yeah, I normally just stick to the game's background music.

If i turn the game music off, i don't replace it. I find that it messes with the mood of the game (more so than getting rid of annoying music).

Well, I don't personally listen to music during whatever boss fights we're doing (Vent and all gets in the way of that).
But I could easily say what songs I would.
Danger zone is one easy one.
Bloody annoyance I can only do 3 links though.

Anything Gurren Lagann-related, is just plain awesome.
Nobuo Uematsu's battle themes are always something you can't not like.
Nier also has some great battle themes as well.
And well, hearing Kenpachi Zaraki's theme, makes me thankful I never, ever had to raid a boss like him.
