Graphics engine should have absolutely no impact on my decision to play but I HAVE TO SEE THIS. Not sure why.

I am very eager to try a CryEngine 3 MMO.

I have so much hope for this game. It seems to be everything I want in an MMO.

It's hard to imagine it looking even better...but I guess so.

I'm so glad the Crytek folks have made the big time.

I remember seeing them at one of the Assemblies. They were very nice kids.

I just wish that American developers would get with the program and start using their engine. It's vastly superior to anything they could come up with.

Good thing there's something good comes out from the flopped Crysis 2.

@kgptzac

Actually it probably is not a flop... but I as well as many PC gamers are rather disappointed at the quality of that game on aspects other than its graphics. Anyhow, Aion demonstrated the older cryengine is a good choice to use in MMOs, so I'm sure the new engine will be good.

Its a flop in the same way that GTAIV was a flop (a controversial opinion, I'm aware).

In terms of gaming technology, it does a lot of really cool, fairly groundbreaking things, and it deserves praise for those things.

But in terms of gameplay, its not so great, or even really good. Definitely one of my bigger disappointments in the past few years.

Some Cabal 2 material in that video too ... which looks like TERA quite a lot.

Anyway i still haven't formulated an opinion about ArcheAge (i don't even know how to pronounce that), but i guess this can't be bad news, can't wait to see what they do with the engine.

it might be superior yes. but those kind of suped up graphics engines get rid of the low end consumer. Thats one of the reasons korean mmos havent not done well in the US. Most people either lack the means to get a really good pc, or would just rather play something else just as good and not waste money upgrading.

When will you kids grow up?

You can never be satisfied.

Game with great graphical capabilities:
"Eh, graphics aren't everything. Plus, they will be too good for everyones computers, NEXT."

Game with horrible graphics:
"OH PLEASE LOOK AT THOSE GRAPHICS. I AM NOT BUYING IT. WHAT IS IT 2002?!"

I just cannot believe in 2011, after RECENT history has shown again and again and again and again that having high system requirements is a BAD BAD thing for MMOs that developers make decisions like this.

MASSIVELY multiplayer games need MASSIVELY accessible audiences. I just don't understand why MMO development studios don't pay attention to the market!
