Why get chased by the cops alone when you can do it with friends? Need For Speed World has opened the freeways with six new Epic Escapes. This time you're not running from the cops alone; you and your friends can high-tail it away from smokey together. Not only is NFSW stepping it up a notch with team pursuits, but it's also upped the danger by giving the cops all-new tactics for catching you lawbreakers. And just to make things more interesting, the times for these runs have been extended to up to eight minutes, so you'd best slap on those high-endurance tires.
Of course, the game doesn't give something to the cops without giving something to you. Because this is a team effort, the devs have given the racer two new team abilities: Team Emergency Evade, which saves your team from getting arrested when you need its help, and Team Slingshot, which provides a powerful boost of speed to your team when it needs it the most.
Check out the full details on the Need For Speed World website. If this gets your adrenaline pumping, then keep watching Massively; we have some special Team Escape events coming up soon!

This story just reduces my respect for this site.
The games been out (release) for almost a full year and for half that time its been an almost unplayable nightmare. with desynchronized races (for MONTHS now) cheaters, hackers, exploits. Broken rewards. 4 cars completely overpowered compared to the other 40+ cars. Grossly overpriced cash-shop. poor community relations (non existant) yet you'll post a story ona new feature despite the horror stories surrounding this game?
sounds like another article to pay the bills. Where EA says here we'll let you post this story as long as you ignore all the crap we screwed up.
Shame on you Massively...shame on you. I'de almost dare the author to challenge my stance on this game because i've got 10 months of ammunition loaded up and ready.

"...sounds like another article to pay the bills. Where EA says here we'll let you post this story..."
I really doubt this portion of your comment, the rest of what you said may be correct but I really doubt that EA is "letting" or "not letting" Massively post stuff. I suppose it *is* possible (being a Joystiq site and all) it just seems really unlikely that this was to pay the bills.
Plus I've never ever seen a story here about NFSW or even really EA games in general, so its not like it happens all the time or something.

@Slayblaze
perhaps its just my overly jaded view of EA and particularly NFS:W.
After the un-annoucned level cap removal for free players, the 150+ pages of replies to that topic that have been ignored, the terrible blance, bugs, poor design choices, complete lack of community interaction from the community staff. Glitches, cheat, hacks that have gone unchecked since release last summer etc etc.
Couple that with the recently revealed truths about game reviews and you can see how such a conclusion could be reached. massively like almost all game sites now simply will not post a story unless its "decent" for the game in question. Myself and many others have sumbitted tips to massively about the myriad issues with NFSW and not once has a word been said. Including the now infamous quote by the NFSW community manager (NFSDrew) "what do you expect from a free game?" in regards to poor performance of the game on mid/high end machines. The only time massively touches the game is to releasea reworded press release instead of tackling the bigger issues the game is having.
