Free Realms makes your world on PS3!

I am in the same boat.

Been waiting to play this on both formats for a long time, but only one or the other. :/

And all those folks that blamed "keyboard/mouse" controls or "macroing" for preventing DCUO players from going between PC and PS3 on the same account? Well, while I think that may've been a small factor, I think it was exactly that: a SMALL factor and this move with Free Realms seems to bear it out. I think there are slight other problems, namely the PS Network integration and perhaps some profit-margins and keeping things separate, tech-reasons or not.

If it follows the same sub model, I may go for a sub. Should be better than "Home" on PS3 at any rate. I'll probably concentrate on the PC version mostly, as I do with DCUO. (Better graphics on the PC version, too.)

The simple reason that PS3 players and the PC players can't play together is the PSN requires players to have a PSN account and the PC side of our business requires a Station account. You don't see PC games logging in on the PSN. It also uses a different backend authentication and wallet system. There really is no other reason. Believe me we wish it wasn't this way. Could it change int he future? I sure hope so.

Hopefully it will change, but maybe the PS4 is more inline with such a change?

So how about you guys get cracking on FEATURES like this instead of wasting time on a hundred "updates" that do nothing for legitimate users and barely annoy the hackers?

Seriously, my PS3 has gone from "It does everything" to "It does less every day".

Oh, and while you're at it, why don't you either get off your butt and finish the 4 year long Home "beta" or scrap it and give us the money back we've spent in the shops. Home has become nothing but a stagnant joke, and noone's laughing anymore.

Didn't know that and no ones told me or others about it. But, let's chalk that up to lack of info-spreading/Microsoft not being clear.

You still can't play the same games or seem to have the same achievements, etc. All other MMOs have "failed" because of Microsoft wanting a "closed system" on their network under their control. Even if Windows Gaming is combined with XBox Live, which I *really* don't remember facing off computer players (and maybe I am wrong?), Microsoft has down squat/zilch/nada with its combined network.

And while Home can send rankles my way, it still is unique and operates, the closest thing Xbox has are those Avatars that are more Wii/Miis than anything close to Home. And at least the wallpaper I bought from Sony is not money wasted like the items I bought pre-Avatar-XBox; I can't see my wallpapers anymore and avatar icons are only mildly useful.

PSN may not be "the tops", but XBox-Live is NOT any better.

No, you can't play the PC and Xbox versions together, that wasn't my point. My point is whether you use Xbox Live or Windows Live, you use ONE ACCOUNT with ONE USERNAME and ONE PASSWORD for access to BOTH, unlike having to have a PSN account for PS3 and a Station account for Windows.

I don't care about being able to lay with PC/PS3 players combined, what I care about is not being able to use the PC account I already have Station Cash in it's wallet to access the PS3 version.

I think working to unify Station & PSN would be a great move by Sony. I appreciate that it isn't a small task though, with SCEA, SCEE and SOE and probably any other number of Sony companies involved in such an endeavour, but a unified system would be fantastic for both gamers and developers.

Inccidently, whilst it hasn't materialised yet, Square Enix were pretty confident that you would be able to play with the same account on both the PC version and PS3 version of FFXIV, though I guess they have a seperate authentication beyond PSN.
