The clip runs a smidge over two minutes and features ample opportunity to feast our eyes on various animations, attacks, and of course armor sets and outfits. There's no voiceover, and those of us who haven't played the game at the various cons may not know exactly what we're looking at, but it nonetheless looks (and sounds) pretty cool. Don't take our word for it, though, see for yourself after the cut.

Due to what could be considered a lack of hard info on everyone's favorite Star Wars archetype, BioWare has had many fans crying out in terror. Today, said fans were suddenly silenced, though not because something terrible has happened. On the contrary, the traditional Star Wars: The Old Republic Friday update brings us a breathless look at glowstick-powered combat footage courtesy of the new Jedi Knight armor progression trailer.

I donno...the video did not move me that much. But I think I'm just jaded by mmos these days.

@Yellowdancer Sitting with about the same feeling, though I have made a decision to not get hyped about this game no matter what they decide to show off pre-launch. I have a feeling that if I get overly hyped I will only be disappointed when I finally get to play it.
Btw, does anyone know anything about the inventory/equip system in this game yet? Just wondering if the armors are handled like Dragon Age where one armor item gives you the complete set of shoulders, chest and leggings, or if they are handled like WoW/Rift/ect..
PS: How much do you want to bet that at least one guy will go "Omg, there is only 6 JK armors? This sucks!" after watching this video?

Interesting looks, they fit the Jedi well. Animations are better than they were, but there's still something off about the whole thing. Seems too...slow.

@Dirame Agreed. The character animation in this game looks choppy and inorganic. The Jedi in this video moves more like a robot than a person. My anticipation forf this game diminishes every time a watch a new trailer.

@Greyhame
It's not just slow, the way the animations flow together just seems robotic.
Like you have a robotic that is stiff going through a selection of programmed moves, but in between each move his posture and default stance is unnatural and stiff. And nothing seems like it's touching each other. The weapons look like they are being swung and then halted right where you'd expect, but there's no sense of countering in the movement you would expect if something was pressed against something else.

OMG there is only 6 JK armor? We want more...
Could not disappoint you Faryon :)
Well its looking better, but I am not sure if I will play it. Friends and I are hoping that it will be good and that it will be worth playing the game for a long time unlike some of the current stuff.

And I also don't see the point of showing armour progression... unless people are afraid of how they will look in higher levels??

Genndy Tartakovsky's Star Wars: Clone Wars shorts started a trend by showing Obi Wan essentially wearing Clone Trooper armor beneath his Jedi robes. I thought it was a masterstroke and instantly iconic. I'm glad artists continue to copy this inspired character design motif. Looks great.

@(Unverified) Well said. Those shorts were the best Star Wars of the past 25 years.

It's funny, but I feel the EXACT opposite of this. I HATE the jedi-in-body-armor look. Maybe I'm a purist based on the films, or maybe it's my own internal image of a Jedi, but I always thought the idea was that they are monk-like. Simple robes and a tunic and such.
I'm a huge fan of the franchise, and MMOs, but the aesthetic/art direction I see the gameplay footage has enough resemblance to the CN Clone Wars style that the gameplay is going to have to be stellar for me to get past it.
