Considering that WOW is pretty much dead in terms of content - I think RIFT will start to pull players when they realise the quiality of the dungeons and raids. I really like what I have seen so far. No - Im not a fanboy I just want to play a good MMO game. And RIFT is just that atm.

Rift has as much end game content as WoW. Joys of releasing expansions is that your end game resets =P

Hopefully Trion will hold to the concept of these items never being available again -- in any form. As opposed to how some games have later made such items available through cash shops.

I really can't think of another game that has added new content so soon after launch. If this is a sign of things to come, the game is going to keep its players very happy for a long time. Especially when coupled with the lighting-fast speed with which the team resolves issues and their openness to feedback.

Rift is the most solid game at launch in recent memory. I can't think of any newer than LotRO that have launched in this good of condition. Now they're upping the ante by demonstrating that they aren't going to sit on their laurels. I couldn't be happier. But I can see why players with heavy investments in other games might be starting to feel threatened by this one. :)

Really? really? 100 of items that can only be obtained once? HOLY MACARONY! SRLY? that's like what we always wanted from a mmo, unique items that no one else got. thank you Trion. amazing, and the event's that are gonna change the game with new upcoming updates are really great. why dose no one else done it before? too lazy i guess: all the other mmo company's want only money, those lazy bastards.

"a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of a key moment in the game's history,"

Okay, i know you're supposed to spice it up but lets not kid ourselves :) But i like the unique items thing, i wonder why other games don't do that occasionally.

@Dumac I don't think you're supposed to read that as "the history of the game", but as "the history of the game". Know what I mean?

(As in lore. Your character will take part in a key moment in the lore of the game.)

@Lenn
Then the proper wording is "history of Telara". In either case, its not even true unless this is the only event they planned for the game, ever.

@Dumac

Good lord not that isnt what it would mean... Babe Ruth was the first person to hit 60 runs in History. Doesnt mean others after him wouldnt be able to hit 60 HRs.

I'm not a big fan of live events. Maybe because WAR spread a truckload of development resources in that kind of content when they could've used it to improve the game.

I would like to see Trion make improvements to the questing system (using phasing among other things), making significant additions to the World PvP, etc.

@Gaugamela

How do you have a request for phasing and a request for more World PvP at the same time? Phasing destroys world PvP. I am very, very glad it is not in Rift and I hope it never does make an appearance.

As for the rest, sounds awesome! Can not wait for the live event!

@Gaugamela
Personal Phasing like its used by Blizzard is the most retarded gameconcept for MMORPGs released in the past 4 years, because it only works in single player games.
Its simply doesnt work in MMORPGs. You cant make worldchanges within a synchronized world. Its simply doesnt work.
Thats why Blizzard put a cheap bandaid on the cheap bandaid and added not just phasing to the world but made it so that player phase each other out also.
And that part is just dumb.
Its dumb beyond instanced dungeons or battleground. Its equally dumb as singleplayer dungeon instances in an MMORPG.

A cry for new content in the level 50 bracket has been answered.... nice job Trion.

The special events sound like I won't get much sleep, always a good thing when it's because of an MMO!

Sweet.

New content already!...I was going slow so I wouldn't run out of things to do before the first content update (I thought wouldn't be coming for 6 months).

Time to put the levelling cap on.

This game has been fun so far. They are doing a good job of keeping me entertained. So far no MTs to worry about, and hope it never comes around. They are adding content and doing events. All in all this game is going strong, hopefully it continues in this path for a while.

This is turning out to be my main MMO after I left LoTRO. LoTRO was a ton of fun and everything, but the Freemium model really killed it for me, specially seeing how in-game they were always asking me if I wanted something from the Turbine store, even though I have an LT sub :(

Here is to hoping Trion holds it together, and long prosperous time for RIFT.

You can make phasing in some areas and create some specific regions (new regions) with PvP enabled by default available to PvE servers as well.
