Ok, so you guys refused to cover League of Legends/Heroes of Newerth because it wasn't a true MMO since it started from a lobby and there wasn't a true "character". Fine. Then you guys started covering World of Tanks, but the excuse you gave was that you actually kept equipment, even though it started from a lobby, and even though it was borderline, I said fine.

But this? You guys are covering Bloodline champions, an almost direct rip-off of Heroes of Newerth (The whole interface is pretty much stripped directly from HoN), with no permanent characters outside of the game, everything going through a lobby first. The game is basically LoL/HoN/Dota without the creeps.

You clearly have no clue on what your talking about, BLC is nothing like HoN or LoL, It requires a completely different amount of skill compared to the usual MoBA games.

Also, in my opinion as long as the interface reacts a lot quicker than LoL's I couldn't give a sh*t what game inspired it.

Maybe you could get your facts straight before ranting with such conviction. This game is constantly compared to to dota and wow, but frankly, it doesn't have very much to do with those games. You'd know if you actually tried it.

I partially agree with you although I think Massively shouild relax their standards of what gets coverage and what doesn't. More games should be included in the coverage - not less. MOBA's such as HoN, LoL and even DotA should be included along with Bloodlines Champions. The lines are becoming increasingly blurred between what is an MMO and what isn't and we all have to adjust our viewpoint as the market itself changes and adapts to an increasing online component across ALL genres.

The point of contention seems to be with what constitues a "massive" game which boils down to "is it a Lobby game, or an Open World game?". The problem is that if that definition were very strictly adhered to then some MMOs generally considered to be massive would have to be excluded because they are actually instanced or sharded rather than a true open world. So even now we are allowing a few games to slip through the cracks even though they are not truly massive.

I have no problem with lobby-type games being included rather than EXcluded as they have huge numbers of simultaneous players where any 1 player can instantly contact and communicate and interact with any other player in a gameplay environment. The bottom line is the word "massive" is already being expanded and stretched to be more inclusive rather than more exclusive. No reason to split hairs more than need to be.

Wow, you guys are dense aren't you? My point is that Bloodlines Champion falls into a category that Massively has refused to cover because they didn't consider them true MMOs, Bloodlines, while different in gameplay, is NOT a MMO and yet they cover it.

Hence my rant, stop being such fanbois.

Actually, Bloodlines is VERY similar to HoN and LoL. You cant compare skill level or type of skill required! Your supposed to be comparing the MMO part of the game.

Bloodlines starts in a Lobby JUST like HoN and LoL. Not massive at all. Although a massive amount of people play LoL. So what I think IceMasta is trying to say is if you cover one game like this you should cover the others.

If this is an MMO, then pretty much every game that has substantial multiplayer features coming out on the PC now is (including LoL, and HoN).

And it won't be long before it includes console games too.

Other than the fact that you have more bloodlines to choose from, no. There aren't any upgrades or anything that directly give you an advantage in the arena. I play all the time so I dropped the $30 so I could have the bloodlines but there are plenty of people that just use the in game currency to buy them over time. This would probably be the way to go especially for a new player because you will just want to learn a few champs at first.

Multiplayer? Check.

Online? Check.

Massive? Not a chance. And last I checked, this site is called Massively. So yeah... Send this over to Big Download or Joystiq. This isn't the place.

They are better games than many that are frequently covered here so I don't care if they are not "massive" enough for SOME readers.
