To ignore someone just type /ignore - no idea how to remove someone from your ignore list though.

I am in the Hopi Tribe and we lost allot of progress. That 12 hour rollback really sucked, lol. But we are working together and re-building again. I lost some progress on my character which made me decide to reroll to change some stats around and starting weapons.

And yes, the "2 hour" comment has been engraved in my brain, lol. Global chat started to remind me of the "Barrens Chat" in WoW, just without the chuck norris jokes.

Even with everthing that has been going on with Xsyon I am still going to play it. Those that pre-ordered get 2 1/2 months of free gametime so I plan to play until that time is up and if Xsyon is doing good then I will be a long time customer. This game is too much fun for me to give up on, for once there is a game that is doing something different.

@WyattEarp89

Glad you mention the 2 1/2 month play time. That is an important issue that sold me on the game in the first place. I am one of those people that talk about supporting smaller mmo companies but so few (earthrise) do anything to give me confidence. These guys have been pretty open and the play time is pretty generous to the point that I did not mind the initial cost.

As for Hopi, I joined the tribe pretty early on but have not even logged in in over 3 weeks now easily as I decided to let the initial chaos settle then come back. Just finally did the update today before leaving for work, looking forward to creating my character again and seeing how the group has improved the camp.

Is it possible to place a homestead in secluded places? Is the world big enough for that? If I wait a month to pick up the game is there going to be very little space available?

It's a curious design decision, allowing people to "grab" tons of real estate right away. At first blush I prefer the UO model, where you had to spend at least a little bit of time to get the money together for a house deed, but I guess only time will tell.

The land is more then big enough to set up a small homestead high in the hills with lots of trees, animals, grass, junk, and everything else you would need to have a good place to live. Come join us !

This sounds like the game of my dreams, like wurm online but with real graphics!

I saw a video of someone walking through walls, is there hit detection in the game at all?

@Bloodburn

What you saw them walking through was probably not the wall, but the plans for the wall. When building, you set the plans up and it makes a ghost image. Then, you fill its construction window with the necessary items (the brick wall I was looking at took a lot of bricks) as you make or acquire them. This allows everyone in the tribe to participate in constructing by donating to the construction. Then, when all of the components are there, you can craft the finished -- and solid -- item.

And yes, I even collided with a friend who was leaning over to gather. The only items I haven't collided with were gathered materials such as piles of grass and twigs.

Awesome, also once you cut a tree down, is it gone forever, or is it the kind that just regrows in like 5 minutes? If its gone forever, how do you plant more trees? Seeds I guess?

@Bloodburn every thing you do is forever. Trees grow from seeds, though we can't plant them yet(it's natural process for now), animals breed not spawn(if you kill one it stays dead). If you pick too much grass in one place you'll get clear dirt patch.

@yoori Ok then, that does it, im in. going to buy it and play hopefully tonight.

I loved wurm online, but the java graphics were holding it back, this seems more like a real survival mmo. Ive had the site bookmarked and saw it went from coming soon, to order now the other day and was like, wait, what?! its out?!

But couldnt find much info on key things that would sell me on getting the game, now that its out, the info is flowing and its tasty info.

For the voters - I see you are voting to do your own homestead. I just want to let you know that really limits the amount of area you are able to build in (by A LOT). Seriously it's pretty puny when you do your own. The only way to be able to get a good chunk of land to develop on is to join up with a bigger group of people. Sure, you can do your own thing on your own Homestead, but to even call it a Homestead is misleading, it's more of a "Shackstead" :P Seriously it's a pretty small area when you're by yourself. Just a thought, I know most people won't even see this until after they vote anyway :D

Anyway I was interested in learning more about Xsyon and that's why I voted for this game, but I went ahead and pre-ordered it myself too so I understand all the frustrations and why we haven't had much to vote on here yet.

The lag at least at some times has been getting a little better :P Actually if you play at like 4-6 in the morning you can get a lot done because there's hardly anybody on and the lag goes way way down. I know we're all waiting for the problem to be fixed (most of us patiently) - but the "two hours" comments really are funny. I guess you heard that no matter where you were in the world, over and over. After two hours passed they'd say "two hours" again lol.

I picked pretty much all the same stuff we did for you in our voting. Tho I see once you get in game you *can* work on anything you want, the starting picks just affect what you get for tools and a small skill starting bonus. Looking back at what I know now - to make things easier for you I wish we picked some sort of Tool Maker. Getting the tools to make things is the hardest part of starting out. No matter what you pick to do - you can't do it without the tools! So making the tools first and then moving to anything else is far more easy for the most part. Tho there are people who will make you tools if you ask around - so I guess it depends who your neighbors are.

@MewmewGirl Homesteads are small, that's true. Terraforming is hard and requires a lot of player skill and practice. Homestead is the best option to test terraforming and architecture. Most tribes probably won't let you do it freely.
