It's patch time for Earthrise, and the sci-fi sandbox from indie developer Masthead Studios is looking to put the hurt on a few of its early-release gremlins. The patch notes for version 17045 indicate that players should notice a substantial reduction in lag and an overall increase in server and client performance. The patch has also added keybinding functionality to the world of Enterra as well as animation tweaks for strafing and walking.
Exploration rewards have also arrived in Earthrise, and players "will now be able to salvage materials and use them for either crafting or personal advantage." The dev team isn't stopping there, though, and producer Atanas Atanasov drops a couple of tasty hints regarding upcoming updates. "We are actively taking player feedback and requests into consideration for future releases, and have extensive developments planned for completion in the next few months, including the addition of territorial conquests and player crafted vehicles," he said via press release.

Well, I guess it can only help. It's a very pretty world but it feels empty, which is a problem when the combat -- both pvp and pve -- just isn't very good.
Buyer beware on this one.

I was just about to ask how the game was going, but clear answers above. It is a real shame, I had high hopes.

i have put about 5 too 6 hours(sometimes more)into this game everyday since release..i have played most of the mmos that have come out in the past 7 years including vanguard, dark fall, and mortal online...with that im mind you know what it means when i say this game launched in the worse shape i have EVER seen a mmo launch in...these devs KNEW that this game was very very far from being finished and they had the disrespect to charge us 50 bucks for it anyway.the engine is pure trash and will take several months to get to where it should be.if you run up on someone..they alt f4 80% of the time to avoid pvp.
when the game launched there were files on client side that should not have been there.people were duping money and crafting mats and all they did was hand out week long bans. 5 weeks into release and we still don't have auto stacking, yea thats right..these guys couldn't even figure out how to code auto stacking at launch.people have to spend an hour stacking stuff in there bank.don't get too excited about the exploration rewards..it consists of a few resources and a consumable...nothing even remotely worth wandering for(darkfalls chaos chests were much more rewarding)the current population is maybe 50 people on at a time..the devs will try to lead you too believe the world is just large and there are tons of people on..but those of us who have been around know better.
at the end of the day they guys have shown they have know clue what they are doing and they purposely launched this game about 6 months early in hopes the community would pay a monthly fee for it..they are in for a very rude awakening come april 4th when they try to charge for this...some people may come back for territory wars but the game is really bad off right now, dont let the devs tell you otherwise.

Been "playing" (and I use that word loosely) that game off and on since it came out. I agree with everything you said. it's got severe coding issues, and desync.
They might have saved face had they refunded everyone's money, and said "hey, help us beta this for the next 6 months". I'll never touch another Masthead game now though.

You know, mining and gathering nodes are about the last thing I'd call an "exploration award", otherwise WoW and a bunch of other games are chock-full of them.

Territorial conquest and player-created vehicles are among the features that were supposed to be in the game originally and which they already announced would come later. I do not think that would be a good example of player feedback affecting development.
It was really in a bad shape at launch and still has a long way to go. As a pure subscription-based game I think they will have a very tough time to keep players around.
The account subscription page just says "N/A" on subscription period and expiration, which hopefully means that they are not trying to charge anyone with the current state of the game.
