@(Unverified) And why is there no way in my profile to verify myself so it doesn't keep saying Unverified?

Did you verify yourself with the email link when you registered with the site?

I'm Not him, but I've verified myself in WoWInsider, not in Massively - haven't got a mail from massively to do so.

@(Unverified) I'm also unverified because I originally created my blogsmith account with Big Download. Sooo...I have no clue how we can undo this madness... =-/

@Danteeeee
You could always roll a girl character. I have seen some people in my guilds give RIDICULOUS amounts of gold/items/etc to "females" in game.

Poor bastards...

@Rindon Done this in a few MMO's. Cheaper then buying Gold and not against the ToS.

Agreed there. I never rolled a female toon in any game for the purpose of twinks and other free stuff, but I found out if your pixels have a little bit more curvature, it can up your chances of random loot dropping into your hands, LOL.

I've never. I'm actually to the good, real money wise. I've bought 3 or 4 Plexs' now with ISK. I ran my miner account solely on Plex until the price ballooned when word got out that CCP was going to use Plex as the currency for an attribute respec.

@(Unverified) If you bought ISK, you've bought gold. CCP just has an official instead of unofficial gold buying service.

No.
Nor will I.
If I had a friend who was outed as a gold buyer I would tell him to quit the game and have the bank to send him a new credit card.

I have.

I have some problems with EVE and I bought the ISK in an attempt to combat those problems; and I got caught after I'd spent it, and had the whole original amount taken off my account.

I went back to the company I'd bought it from and they issued it to me again so that I didn't have a huge negative balance. It was very risky and I wasn't happy about it, but for me the choice was that, or quit the game.

About a year after that, PLEX was introduced and I used that to get the ISK, but it wasn't very long before the problems became too great for me and I left the game.

@Ringu

That is what is has come down to for me in a game. I was having fun, but wasn't good at making in-game money. Money was a huge gate in that game, so I bought a little to keep the game fun. I've done it twice in about 7 years.

@Tristik Yep, I'm completely with you. It's hard when you feel guilty for trying to enjoy a game; I'm really glad they introduced the PLEX.

No, as far a goldsellers and so on. Those are annoying and risky. /ignore.

In microtransaction games, if I find myself playing past level 20 or so, I'll buy some of whatever they use in their cash shops in lieu of buying the game, since if it's fun it needs supported.

I hang my head in shame but yes. Back in the first year of DAoC, I bought gold from an eBay seller to level my armor crafting. I don't even know if it was a ToS violation back then.

@UnknownUser Same here; back when I was 12 and playing Runescape I saw a banner saying buy coins.

And I did it, I didnt know it was illigal. Still the shame haunts me.

I was banned for 2 days and got to keep the gold but it scared the living hell out of me.

And I will never do something like that again.

Thats why the plex thing from EVE is genius, if I would like EVE I might do that.

Yep.

When I was raiding in WoW but had little desire to do anything else; I realise it's "zomg super easy to maek gold in WoW" but, frankly, I DETEST dailies, get bored of the AH after about 30 seconds and I really had no desire to do any more herbalism/mining after I'd spent ages farming for my epic flyer.

Flame away, I have absolutely no regrets. It made the game far more enjoyable since I didn't have to choose between doing yet more dailies or raiding.
