@Puremallace

What?....

I am curious as to how you know what every single WoW player is going to be playing when TOR releases.

@Huey2k2

I think he's talking about all the Horde players playing Sith, assuming that the Horde has the bigger of the 2 player populations. Is the Horde even the more populated of the 2 sides or are they just the most vocal? FOR THE HORDE!... I'm guessing just more vocal.

@VisualGloss When I first played (beta till about two years), Horde was outnumbered 2:1 on nearly every server, according to census programs. I haven't checked those sites since I started again recently with Cataclysm, but a lot of my friends say the populations have more or less evened out. Besides, it's not nearly as big of a deal as it used to be, most people are content to pvp in the arenas and battlegrounds.

Ah, I miss the Stranglethorn and Tarren Mill battles.

FOR THE HORDE!!!!!

If we don't stop this, billions will die! And we'll stop it by first killing 10 rats, then doing a couple of fed-exes with dialogue we listen to once and skip in the future, then killing a boss (make sure you have a group for that because you're too wimpy on your own) that comes back moments after we've killed him. Then doing it all again on your alts. It will be epic!

@Daemodand And look! It's Not-R2D2 and Not-C3PO in the first scene of the video!

What exactly are you expecting them to do? If your expecting Bioware to change the way every system works in an MMO this obviously isn't the game for you.

I'm expecting a company as big as this making a game as big as this to at least attempt something slightly divergent.

Admittedly, we don't exactly know (or at least I don't, I might have missed something) how this story-driven questing is going to play out and exactly how the quests will be structured, so I'm not totally in agreement with Daemodand, but they haven't really said much to the contrary on that, which I assume they would considering its one of their main selling points.

Like I say in my post a little farther down the comments here, I'm not nearly as excited as I used to be and Bioware hasn't been offering a whole lot to get excited about for the player who doesn't love WoW and Mass Effect. I really feel like they're just mashing those two games together, which is not what I was hoping for.

So you don't like the way mmos work. Why are you here?

@dudemanjac

Who said that has to be the way MMOs work? If anything, I think numerous games currently in development strongly disagree that MMOs have to follow that same tired model.

@Apakal And who says they don't have to be? Some of us like the old model. Hell some of like both old and new.

Interesting trailer. Looking forward to this game.

Gotta say though, it seems that all their promotional material is very "Sith is so badass!" and the Republic is just portrayed as weak and scrambling to survive. Also it barely showed the Smuggler, the class I'm most interested in.

Oh well. The animation and sound effects for the Trooper with the giant turret-like gun are awesome. For the Republic!

Well now we know why they used CGI in some of the other trailers.
To me that looked awful. Looks like more was spent on the advertising and PR than on the actual game play.

I know Bioware have or will say that they're going to make as much cool stuff for the Sith side, I can't help wondering if there will be a lot more stuff to see and do for the Republic side since most of the story of the movies has been from their point of view.

After Dragon age 2 my trust in Bioware dropped a ton...
Maybe DA2 was a monkey grabber to fun the mmo, i don't know... I really hope this game delivers.

@PaperSpeaks

Really? I very much enjoyed Dragon Age 2 (as I also enjoyed Dragon Age: Origins) and felt DA2 demonstrated a lot of improvements over the first game (although, I'll, a couple of things about it weren't as good as DA:O).

I think Bioware makes a great game and continues to refine and improve their products, and I am now more optimistic than ever about SWTOR.
