I don't know if I would be willing to pay real money for pre storage, because sooner or later I will leave pre...well most likely I will.

Although I would willing to buy storage in pre if I got additional storage on the account all together. Utilize one of the purchasable tabs but make it so my character had a separate tab also in pre, does that make sense?

@Tagon That does make sense! I really like that idea -- I wonder how complicated it would be to implement.

Have to agree about thief... I was 100% certain that when mesmer showed up that would be my main but now I'm not so sure 'cause the thief looks like a metric ton of fun. I love my assassin and it *IS* a very much mis-understood class. When friends consider assassin for the first time I tell them to repeat the mantra: I am not a tank, 100 times. Then they just *might* be ready.

'Sin has to be played with that mindset, it's not just a straight up melee DPS, play an assassin LIKE an assassin. Let combat begin, find weak links in the enemy strategy (healers or other soft targets) shadow step to them and apply pressure to force them out of healing the enemy mobs.... but so many times playing with people new to assassin I see them rush head-long into the pack just like the minion wall.

Then others don't even bother and instead play a critical barrage sin, it's effective I'll give it that, but I personally can't play that way and truly feel like an assassin.

As for the update: BEST UPDATE EVER. I have a Necromancer alt that I'm going to make a mercenary hero and then I'll run a quad necro discordway combined with another mesmer I'm going to make a merc. hero and have the discord team running with the mesway team and then put something in as the last hero.. maybe an SoS rit... or a straight up HB monk.. or.. or... gahh i can't decide and it's awesome to have so many possibilities!

@Arkanaloth

The problem with the sin in GW1 was that combat in GW1 is very fast-paced, where unlike other MMOs one can stealth and slowly pick apart a group one by one without fighting the entire squad at a time.

I always found the Assassin in GW1 a rather misplaced class for the game as it really doesn't fit with the combat. To me Assassin is about subtlety, finesse, and most importantly being methodical in dissecting a pack of enemies. The class loses most of these traits in translation with the mechanics of the combat in GW1 when most all fights just degrade into a bar brawl at best.

The only thing that I am missing is that even with 7 heroes, you can only manually flag the first 3. Would be nice to flag all 7 seperately. Especially for fights like Glint to get the Bonus for that mission.

It would be nice, but they said they didn't want to do that because they wanted player groups to still have -some- advantage, even if it was a minor one.

Who needs to flag to get the bonus for Glint? Just bring an interrupter and lock it on her, even with the old 3 Hero/4 Henchmen setup it was easy. Now it's trivial in Hard Mode as well...

Embark Beach: Nice transit point so that you don't lose your 8-character party, especially when you want to get somewhere in Nightfall regions, because of...

7 Heroes: The Death of Teaming. Makes most content trivial.

Mercenary Heroes: Meh. Big whoop. Might buy a slot to get access to another Ritualist on most characters ('cos Nightfall is too irritating to complete on more than the single character of mine that's already done so), but otherwise holds no interest for me.

Thief: Meh. Like the rest of GW2, nothing about it makes it look worth playing.

@The Ogre

Teaming would have had to be alive somehow for it to be killed by seven hero parties. The only people who still teamed up for missions these days are for Zaishan Missions (during which only Warriors, Elementalists, Necros, Monks and occasionally Mesmers get any attention anyways) and by asking people in your Guild/Alliance if they'd help you out (which, lately, doesn't always work that well either). The idea of the Team in GW is long dead with the aged population of many on the server and the near complete dearth of new players. This is a mercy for people who actually want to get things done.

I like the look of Thief, although it probably won't be high up on my immediate play list. Those pistols, though, hoo boy. I -love- the pistols.

I'm torn on the Merc Heroes. My roommate keeps grumbling about how I don't need them and money and blah but after spending a lot of time trying to plan my team and finding that I have spaces to put heroes in that I don't really want to fill with any of the available ones, the idea of making my own is worth at least 20 bucks to me. Olias and Margrid are still never leaving my party, though.

Oh god I'm so far behind on my HoM. *sob*

@Irem For me the merc. heroes will be expanding on the team power levels. I run triple-necro for discordway so that will not change, gwen of course in as a panic mesmer, that's four not counting myself (mesmer). so I have 3 more slots to fill and I can't help but forsee extreme amounts of power by adding at least another necro for a 4 necro discord team.

no clue what to do with the last two slots but with four necromancers spaming discord and two mesmers pumping out armor-ignoring damage the last two slots can be just about anything.

Im sure that Im not the ONLY person that feels this way, and Im sure that there will be tons of people who will flame me for saying this, but, ANET has ruined these 2 very difficult titles to get with this update.

LDoA was a very very time consuming title to get, whether or not it was "exploited" or not. The amount of time need to get this once prestiguous title was HUGE. Now, all you have to do is get to level10 and 2-3 days later, you get your free LDoA. Ive seen maybe 3-5 LDoA's in the last 2yrs Ive been in pre up to this update, and since Monday (I think it was) Ive seen about 15-20 LDoA's. Its lame, its not even a "cool" title anymore.

Leg Surv is also ruined, in my opinion, because part of the thrill and frustration WAS dieing and having to remake a totally new toon if yours died. Yeah it sucked, and yeah it was VERY annoying, but damn, that was part of the appeal to getting LEGENDARY SURVIVOR!! You didnt die....not once. Not just "Ive gotten 1mil XP since my LAST death". That is also very lame, uncool and people have no reason (well maybe a small reason) to be as careful trying to farm r3 Leg Surv.

That is just my 2 cents on those 2 titles. Feel free to flame away and call me interwebnetz names and whatnot, but that will not change my opinions.

It would take months to get to 20 just using the daily quests. Even abandoning/retaking the quest to farm the higher level mobs was made intentionally difficult by scattered spawns. The reason you're seeing so many people ding now is that more people are dusting off characters that they just couldn't stand to do that last bit of death leveling on and getting the title finished (combining death leveling with the dailies is probably helping), and it really wasn't that rare to begin with. I've been playing about four months and I've seen quite a few Legendary Defenders either dinging or just hanging out in Pre.

I'm the Game Masochist. Give me something that's so incredibly tedious and time-consuming that it's considered ridiculous to try, and I'll probably at least attempt it. The first character I made in GW was my perma-pre. Usually I'm against nerfing the difficulty level of "because it's there" achievements, but I think the reasons they had for changing these titles were fair. It still takes a decent amount of dedication to log in every day and do the quests, which are quite a bit more challenging than leaving your game running so you can come back every few hours and kill a group of mobs.

To be fair, you could trivialize survivor anyways just by farming Frontis's lair, or gathering enough slime/hammers to just turn in all at once for the requisite amount.

This thief class is gonna convert quite a few tera fans over. Very interesting action game mechanic.
Except for the stiff character animation in cut scenes i can't find anything at all in gw2 that i don't like.
I would gladly have them release it now and upload patch to fix and add feature and content. I just dunno how long i can hold my breath

I remember when I first asked where the Xunlai Chest was when I first entered Pre-searing (I started GW in Factions, Prophecies came later), and that was four years ago. I completely agree that's something I'd pay for.
Damn you Mr. Sandford! There's only so much I can fit into a Charr bag, y'know!

I was OK with the changes to Survivor and LDOA even though I got them the old ( much harder) way.
I play the game for y own enjoyment and its no skin off my nose if there is an easier way now.
Actualy I kinda like the change to Drunkard. I'll probably go for it now...never had the patience to sit counting minutes as needed the 'old' way. Its gone from the hardest trivial title to the easiest.

I dunno Rubi, after watching a 15 minute gameplay video from Pax East (which featured the Air Attunement) I'd still say Ele has a leg-up for the slot of Main in my character line-up. Watching a dagger-wielding ele channel a beam of pure radiant lightening on its target gave me goose bumps. As much as I love fire and frost, the thought of harnessing and wielding raw energy like that just makes me want to randomly burst out singing.
