Cross an RTS game over to an MMO? Madness! Well, OK, maybe it's not madness at all, but this new video dev blog from the team behind Age of Empires Online is pretty crazy! In it, we're treated to an interesting look behind the scenes of this upcoming MMORTS title under production at Gas Powered Games. However, as we learn from CEO Chris Taylor, Producer Dex Manely, and Marketing Manager Justin Kirby, there's a lot of brainstorming and work that goes on when it comes to creating interesting video dev blogs for a game.

Haven't heard of this actually. This is going to be a large persistent world with 1000's of players, or another quasi-mmo with the first M standing for gaMe lounge or Match-play? Intriguing if it's a real mmo and not another publisher just trying to cash in on a game genre and adding cash shops.
But watercolors? I like to paint too, but...
AoE was my 3rd all time fav RTS, behind red alert and lords of the realm. Pretty neat if they can manage a true mmo out of it.

This is just too soon. The wound from the news of Ensemble Studios closing still hasn't healed.

I believe GPG can do this as they are a major RTS developer and can integrate the mmo side to the game.

Robot Entertainment = Ex-Ensemble, they developed AOE:O for years and then MS gave it to shitty GPG.

I hope the ballista don't actually roll about like that while they're out of combat.
It's a siege weapon. It doesnt need idle animations.

Wasn't something like this being done with Heroes of Might and Magic?

Wow. The art style looks horrible. What's up with that cartoony shit? Even the logo looks like it belongs on a kid's toy.
Also agree on "too soon".
