Got to admit, I've been having a blast after coming back to it again. Some of these T4 attacks have been intense.

@Cicadymn

I've been back playing WAR for some time now -- playing the High Elf PvE storyline, if you can believe it -- and I enjoy the game for what it is. Very much so.

But, there are definitely problems which need fixing, and crafting is certainly one of them.

While I like the general mechanics of how crafting is handled, WAR is yet another MMORPG where players never seem able to craft gear equal to what they would find as drops just from playing the game.

Also, crafting in WAR costs, and with lower-to-mid level crafting, I can't even make my money back by selling things at the in-game Auction House.

To make a profit on my lower-level potions, for example, I'd have to charge more for them than players of the appropriate level could afford to pay.

So, yeah, I truly enjoy WAR too, despite its flaws -- but things like crafting are in desperate need of a fix.

Cheers!

I'm I crazy or alone in thinking that Warhammer Online has such good actual gameplay, it's just the logistics of most of the game (PvP armor sets, raiding keeps, etc) is lousy?

The classes were unique, even if a few were more talented or potent than others, and I felt the combat (in certain areas) was very enjoyable.

For a PvP game, I felt like the massive pvp wasn't the best utilization of the gameplay, since characters like the Engineer and Magus that should have an advantage in large fights really were not better than characters like Bright Wizard and Warrior Priest, which were characters that should have excelled in PvE.

I felt like the best utilization of the Warhammer characters would have been in 5v5 or 6v6 battles. People loved the scenarios because of how balanced they *could* be.

So to conclude, I felt the gameplay in WAR was great, but the massive PvP didn't suit the characters that well and it was a shame because the game was based around massive PvP, and less small group PvP and even less PvE.

Well talking to my good friend at Bioware Mythic will be completely revamping the PVE starting in September The Idea is a unique one Mordhiem like towns and Dungeons that provide extensive random PVE quest chains to whatever faction has control of them. This may actually put WAR back on the map for a lot of players

If Mythic really does this, it's about the DUMBEST thing ever. Didn't they learn anything from LOTD? One side steamrolls and dominates and then the other side is locked out.

This game has no more competition on several levels at the top really. I guess they really want to put the bullet in the head of this game, this is probably the way to do it by giving the stronger side MORE content while the weaker gets none.

If your inside friend at Bioware is right, this can set the stage for a goodF2P game I guess. Maybe they are ramping up for that...

I will admit my ears perked up at this, as crafting and PvE were among our complaints with the game (yes, we know it's a PvP game, but we like variety), but Mythic would have to do a lot to win hubby and me back from Rift. A LOT.

Warhammer focuses too much on PvP. It's fun during the short window of action at prime hours, though the server is dead most of the day. Just grew tired of standing around with dead pvp lakes and scenarios that never pop.

@Jade Effect know what you mean but I have had some of the best fun at those quiet times. This isn't a 1vs1 game and it's not balanced as such but I really do enjoy coming across 1 or 2 people and taking them on. In those situations this game can be absolutely brilliant...so much fun.

In the prime times, run solo and you get zerged. Zerg or be zerged isn't so much fun.

Ofc as you say SC's will never pop during the quiet times and that's a pain.

I don't know, they are going to have to do something very different spectacular to get me excited for this game again. Too many broken hearts and server merges. While I prefer a balance between PvP and PvE, focus on PvP was winning out, but matches were becoming fewer as players were leaving the gamme.

I also prefer the Public Quests in this game better than what I have so far seen in Rift. Not that Rift is terrible, but Warhammer seemed to have more variety than "movable kill arena that can be PvP or whack-a-mole PvP". There was just more story set up and a variety of things to do with more clearly defined goals mentioned.

Correct. And that comment does give me hope. If they are similar, with collecting stones and doing things with other players rather than straight out whacking (and not counting the PvP I heard, which does sound neat), then I am all for it.

Now, if Trion would just FIX the problem me and a percentage of the playerbase had with Headstart Friday's patch, I could actually PLAY the game!

Too little too late. The last addons have ben disasters, and the server merges were brutal. Crafting up til this supposed addon has been... wait, what crafting? Skaven was introduced after years of waiting and drooling - only to be accessible for a few elite players at a time. Ridiculous nonsense.

Though not an easy feat, they managed to mess it up real bad, IMO. I had high hopes, and kept defending and playing the game for a long time (and having quite a bit of fun now and then), but WAR is dead to me now.

I never understood why you couldnt make weapons, armor, shields, etc. or why this wasnt included a long time ago. Too little too late for me and probrobly many others. The game was fun if a bit limited. PVP was fun.

I said in beta they should include a Mordheim / City that was basically like darkness falls in DAOC. That being said tho I agree With Nevin the LOTD was not implemented very well. PVE in WAR is buggy and lackluster (Seemed like every time I did an instance one of the boss mobs bugged and we were unable to finish it) Public quests were fun tho.

War has a horrible crafting system it is really just awful. Could be a good opportunity for the to close the endgame gear gap a bit if they would put in Armor and weapon crafting.

I think too much damage has been done for the game to recover and the gear gap for new players will just frustrate new people once they get to T4.

I wont ever be returning to WAR - I will just wait for the 40K mmo to come out instead..

I could return...at least for a visit. Maybe if something very meaty was introduced (new classes that are fully formed. A new faction.)

But really, "Amen!" to what you have said! If 40K came out, I'd probably never look back (unless it went f2p and again...short visits)
