@Apakal What about it? It's the launch day of a new MMO. Most MMO gamers regardless of their overall interest in the individual genres (fantasy, sci-fi etc), are atleast partially interested in the successful launch of any new MMO.

@Apakal

I chose this for two reasons, really:

1.) it's RIFT's launch day and
2.) RIFT screenshots are the lion's share of the One Shots inbox currently. It pretty much happens every time a new AAA game goes into the prelaunch NDA drop/launch state.

The best way to see your favorite game on One Shots is, as ever, to send in some screenshots. :)

@Apakal

Yeah, but what else is going on?

GW2 is slowly releasing a trickle of info. SWTOR is slowly releasing a trickle of info. Secret World is thinking about starting to slowly release a tiny bit of info.

@Wild Colors Eh, I'd complain except they'd just go back to showing EVE screens again, with a side of Fallen Earth.

Equipment looks horrible. The pet animations are almost wooden with no animations and the pets do next to no damage. Looked like my character kicked a shaped wooden animal over.

@malakhi70
Some of the equipment looks better than others and apothecaries make dye so you can drastically change the default looks. I hadn't really noticed the pet animations TBH. I'll take a closer look when I get a chance later. Of course, you don't *have* to play a pet class...

@malakhi70 yea the armour and weps look a bit plain but look good at high level so i think the idea is we are dribbling when we see them as we are used to the plain ones and the pets need work for sure and some do need balancing just have to wait and see what happens with them iam afraid.

Sanctum is the isolated city of the "good"/"light-bathed" faction and it's visual flair comes from it's ornate and regal tall architecture and trees.

If you've played Aion, then maybe you've heard of the "good" faction's main city called Sanctum that fits that EXACT same description!! xD

I know Trion was proud about taking ideas from other MMOs and incorporating them into Rift, but this was a bit much. I had to laugh the first time I saw this :P

@Naru now in 3D rift was taken from an old pen and paper rpg at least 10 years old so the lore and names was aroynd long before Aion.

@raysie34 only 2 servers are usually full, the rest fluctuate from high to full, with a bunch in med even at peak.

and that, the pre launch servers as you say. the post launch servers are low (with a few of them most probably EXTREMELY low) 24/7.

the proof is in the pudding, the new servers werent needed for jack.

and lets see by the end of the month how are the pre launch servers, I bet we will see a lot more med than high and nearly never full, which further exemplifies how the extra servers werent needed at all...

The game just went live. I swear half of the people here if I told you I knew of someone who long jumped 9m, you'd just reply with "oh that's not that far".
