Everyone knows that the internet was created for two things. One is Lolcats, and the other is... not what your dirty mind was assuming. No, in fact, the second grand purpose for the series of tubes is to allow the mass dissemination of bazillions of those black-bordered (de)motivational posters. To that end, gPotato is conscripting its Allods Online fanbase to add some more to the mix.
A new Allods contest requires players of the F2P fantasy title to snap an in-game screenshot (sans the UI, of course) and paste the image into a black box using a graphics editor. Add a bit of humorous white text and you've got yourself an entry that could win you a large incense kit, a chest of costumes, a fashionista's trunk, five stamina elixirs, and five luck elixirs.
Entries are due by Friday, March 4th, and you can submit them -- as well as learn more about the contest -- via the official Allods forums.

If only they didn't ruin the game with the terrible cash shop and the items needed to be functional after death the game could have gone somewhere. It had promise. Hell, I would have paid a sub for it. As it is, not paying for deaths.

Not trolling but too late, too far, and who really cares? I honestly don't know a single soul that plays this game...

This game had the world in its hands and they dropped it. I would just love to know why they thought that 'cash shop screw-up' was a good idea. I would give anything to sit in on that meeting and just listen to the reasoning behind it all. I just cannot fathom why they thought it was a good idea.

I just started playing again. I was also in CBT and played it alot. Now i got back and i see still a few players playing it. They Might have screwed thinks up with their cashshop but they also tried to make it better. Now it's not necessary to pay, you got a daily that will help you get every thing you need in order to play. i agree with the fact that it had some much potential, but if you really love it you will do it now too. Just like me.

I enjoyed the game until I realized that to be PVP competitive you would have to waste a lot of money in the game. I'm not complaining about spending $5-15 dollars a month, which is the reasonable amount for F2P games (otherwise pay $15 for a WoW like game). But they have a system that allow people to spend thousands of dollars, so everyone else will be cannon fodder. Really dumb game design.
Best F2P game is DDO, it's a system that doesn't punish players, but allow them to slowly buy the content they like. There is a "one time fee" to become Premium though, which is quite required to get any money in the game. After that, if you are not rushing for the best quests and gears, you won't need to spend much (if any).

It's crazy how important first impressions are in the MMO industry. I tried out Allods when they implemented the dailies, there were a lot of things I liked about the game, and the world felt very filled-out and unique, but the grind at around lvl 30 killed it for me. I just couldn't run another daily or teleporter quest.
