I'm going to suggest that 99 times out of 100, couples that create guild issued are not married, but dating. I've been involved in a number of minefields around dating couples, and never one with married ones.

And as a note: if anything in game is actually affecting your marriage, uninstall and unsubscribe. There are a few games my wife and I don't play together because our styles are different. It happens. Either play solo, or pick another game!

I'm a big fan of the 'guild officer is not a status symbol' idea. It's not passed around often enough. To lead should be to =serve=. (In all aspects of society, really... though it's sadly not the current state of things. You will notice, however, that all leaders who earn respect are the ones who genuinely believe their role as a leader is not self-fulfilment but to serve their people.)

I've seen some guilds where hundreds are invited and every now and then someone pipes up asking, "When can I be promoted! What do you have to do to be an officer?" without actually knowing what it is that the officers do.

In my tiny friends/family guild, the officer roles were primarily about coordinating the resource pool of all our crafters, contributing the most gold to the bank for repairs, and generally ensuring that the other members had less to think/worry about in terms of direction and supplies. Being an officer in no way whatsoever conferred any loot-drop or guild-bank privileges; it only determined how we looked at the roster and what we needed to do to achieve our goals.

Suggestion: Always have an uneven number of =reliably online= guild officers, and always make it well-understood that there is a pre-defined quorum (a minimum number of people who have to be present to pass a vote) for officer decisions.

Meh. I'd never want to be in a guild so focused on "achieve! achieve! achieve!" that they wouldn't take me and my wife. Thanks, I already have a job. Games are what we do for fun.
