I'm not trollan here, but is this game still a bug ridden giant piece of crap? I got a chance for the beta and that left a horrid taste in my mouth. 9 gigs of client wouldn't take that long to install and try for myself but from what I recall their update process is a bit bad.

Similar experience myself, and was wondering the same... If it's actually now a playable game?

I was a huge Mortal fanboy and even preordered the game... then played beta and canceled everything.

"Its easy to forget about Mortal Online" I think people would be wise to NEVER forget about Mortal Online.... or their launch I should say.

Once they introduce the "Pay you $20 a month to play" I might just play it.... maybe.

I just watched that video and I was actually interested in the look of the game...but then they showed combat and then mentioned how it was open pvp and those two points killed it.

I played in beta and at launch for about 3 months. I'm considering a giving a free trial a whirl to see if the game has finally achieved more of its "potential".

@Germaximus

There are no levels; you normally have 1000 skill points and 120 or so attribute points which are distributed to whatever skills and attributes you use most. You can set attributes to raise or lower over time, depending on the activities you perform.

Say you have full points in sword, but you want to transfer them to spears? You can set the option for your sword points to decrease over time and your spear skill to increase simultaneously as you use the latter.

I had a maxed out character within a week. Mortal isn't about the grind, it's about living in the world.

It's steadily getting much better, with frequent patches introducing bug fixes and new content.
