The second installment of Norn week has arrived to the ArenaNet blog, and it seems to be following the pattern of last week's human focus in this Guild Wars 2 series.
As with last week, day two brings us a series of voice clips to augment the short paragraphs about the Norn outlook on their surroundings. Both the text and audio both included some interesting new insights into lore that we're already familiar with. Each Guild Wars 2 race seems to have its own "dark" or "rebellious" faction -- the Sons of Svanir in this case.
There are a few mentions of this faction highlighting how the other Norn reluctantly accept its members in day to day life. Check out the full entry on ArenaNet's blog as Norn week continues!

Man, I've been totally convinced to play as Asuran this whole time. After reading how much I follow how a Norn is for me in real life though, now I'm contemplating a switch. At least, contemplating who I want to play as first.
Norn make heroes proud!

The poll I'm referring to is for "LEAST favorite race" so if you want to think about it the other way around, asurans are in last place.
I always like being at least a little unique, if not a little ironic. I figure since a lot of people don't like asurans, there won't be as many playing them (of course this is only a small poll).
I'm going to greatly enjoy playing an asuran warrior or guardian.

Is anyone really surprised though? While the asuran concept art looks awesome the only up-close look we've had of them in-game makes them look like the the result of a drunken hookup between ET and Gizmo that then proceeded to be beaten with the entire bloody Ugly Tree instead of just the stick.

I like em. They don't come off as stubborn and ignorant, instead they definitely have a reason behind their culture. I like the idea of sacrificing yourself so that your story can live on to continually inspire and strengthen your people. I'm looking forward to playing one and seeing what their world is like. :)

An "r" right next to an "n" looks almost exactly like an "m".
So rn = m and Norn = Nom
Every time I see that word I have to do a doubletake and think of nom nom norn nom before I realize what happened. Then I go have a snack 'cause you just made me think about eating something tasty.
(this has been your Meaningless Observation of the Day)

"Norn Week" is a bit insulting I think. Surely the Norn are big enough that a mere week can not contain them. Make Norn week into Norn Month. That would be legendary, and fitting for ones such as the Norn.

I've set my eyes for Norns ever since they announced they are playable race. I love my Jora and can't wait for my Norn character to roll out!
