Hanibitsoft and European publisher Frogster gave Massively the skinny on three armor sets revealed in the new fantasy MMO Mythos. Merchants on Heaven Island offer special armor sets to players with enough points from Lamento battles. Players form teams to face off against other groups in these contests of glory and special prizes.
The Lamento sets of armor are specially designed to visually complement each other when worn as a complete suit. In addition to the stat increases given by individual pieces, the armor grants characters extra bonuses when the player equips more than one piece at a time. The bonus stats increase at 2, 5, 8, 11, and 13 collected pieces.
The weapons and shields will vary, and each armor set contains two different sets of attributes for each of the three classes. Gadgeteers don the Pure White Soul armor set; Bloodletters strap on the Dark Plains or Snow Field armor; Pyromancers ignite the world in their Firestorm robes. In the gallery below, we've uploaded your first look at these enchanting suits. If you are interested in finding out more about the myth behind Mythos, march over to the official site and sign up for the closed beta going on right now.

Indeed, those are so- Oh wait, it's not WoW?
Those sets (Especially the one on the far left) look so much like WoW armor I assumed they were.

Of course, you completely failed to see the words 'Mythos' all over the place, or you'd have had no reason to make that ass-umption... ;)

The average person's eye goes to the picture first. That's why blogs use big pictures. My first impression is that these were some variety of WoW Tier set, and they very closely share the aesthetics of the wow sets.
Compare:

Those are just random tier sets. Wow Tier sets are generally one of two standard bottom (robe or legs), with the only really unique modelling being shoulders and heads.

*beats face on desk chanting fail repeatedly*
Blizzard north -> Flagship -> Runic games
Mythos was originally developed by Flagship (you remember Hellgate, right?), but when that company sunk Hanabit got the IP for both Mythos and Hellgate and have since then done their best to demolish the two titles (hellgate is a s-Korea only release at this point) beyond repair.
yes, I can see where you are coming from with the WoW comparison, but take a look at torchlight and you will see an even bigger connection.
I really hope that these sets are actually content that was developed by Flagship/Runic before the IP got transfered, otherwise this is just blatant plagiarism of the artwork in TL.

I blame WoW for the absolutely absurdly ridiculous looking shoulder pads.
Most, if not all, of the shoulder pads in WoW are just retarded looking, and here's proof that another art team is following that lead.
I think I'm secretly hoping that when the WoW movie actually hits all the actors will be walking round with these gargantuan, comically oversized shoulder pads on for the entire film. Both because it will look like the game, and it's the sort of thing Sam Raimi could get away with somehow...

Hunter set
Mage set
Priest set
It's been a while or I'd name the exact tier they copied from.

Don't forget that these games are cousins. Both Torchlight and Mythos are Blizzard offspring.
