A day for Rift's headstart. Coincidence?

@Sharuk

Considering Rift is a PvE focused game and Aion is pvp focused, they appeal to totally different players. So yes, coincidence.

@Sharuk

I highly doubt that any former aion player who wants to play Rift will go back to aion because of this tho.

@Addfwyn Are you really naive enough to believe there's no crossover? This is definitely a move on Aion's behalf to retain some of their player-base.

I want a trial version of this to come out. :(

I'm not paying 30 bucks for a game I may or may not like.

Aion needs to make double xp permanent 24/7, and same with whatever that gateway thing they're talking about. It's dumb to limit events that players desire to small time frames. The game obviously works better with increased XP gain, so increase the xp gain!

I was thinking of trying Aion again, but every time I see that double xp weekend announcement I just cringe and stay away. Double xp weekend does not say "hey, our game is fun".

@Averice
Well just because you may not find it a fun game does not mean others don't. Double XP is just to help beginning players reach the higher levels.

@DemonXaphan

lol, what beginning players? Don't even kid yourself, most of the MMO community turned their back on that game a year ago.

@(Unverified) I just started playing Aion in January. Had to stop because it was getting in the way of college stuff, but I'm planning to return to it this summer.

I got close to level 40 in one month, so Aion really doesn't seem that grind-intensive to me...
