Spiders, they're everywhere, and having arachnophobia doesn't help much. At least I get to mush a ton of them...

Now Scorpions though, I'd love to them more often, being a Scorpio I think is why, but I see them as a heavily armored version of the spider...superior in every way!

@KaiserZeppelin

I fully agree, Giant Spiders are lame, in fact giant insects and anacranids are lame in general and just show players how uncreative devs can be.

Changing their colour and damage effects and adding a new name to them is even lamer. Wolves also get a seriously bad rap in many MMO's. I think in AoC in one zone their are somthing like five differant variants of wolf all of which you need to kill at some point. Seriously lazy development.

It's really not that hard to invent new monsters and lore to support them.

@KaiserZeppelin - You sir, rock.

@Everyone This. Giant spiders serve absolutely no purpuse. They're situationally useless, scientifically impossible, and overall they're just plain boring. Then comes all the mmo-created BS of fighting one: Slows, Roots, Posions... yes Mister Spider, you suck.

Kinda tired of undead--not so much the concept, but the fact it's ALWAYS the freakin' vanilla-template zombies, ghosts, and skeletons.

Totally tired of spiders.

Demons are another OK concept but, again, it's usually the same tired models recolored--maybe spice things up with more WH Chaos, more Doom vibe?

Boars, Spiders, Wolves, Elves, Humans, Dwarves and Dragons are overused in my opinion.

Kobolds in DDO! In most other fantasy games, Kobolds are low-level trainning fodder, but in DDO they're all-level grind-bags. At first, I liked the idea, and I liked that some kobolds were okay, some were friendly etc. DDO's Kobolds are a well-written bunch, and there's all sorts of interesting tribal and species/inter-species politics motivating them.

HOWEVER! Enough with the Kobolds already!

@xuiton

To expand on alzeer's list:

Vanilla:
Zul'Farrak
Temple of Atal'Hakkar (Sunken Temple)
Zul'Gurub

The Burning Crusade:
Zul'Aman

Wrath:
Zul'Drak (an entire troll zone)
Drak'Tharon Keep
Gundrak

This does not include the many tribes, quest hubs, factions or mobs that are troll related.

Cataclysm is the only expansion does not feature anything significant with trolls save for redesign of certain Vanilla troll areas and what not (Ie. the removal of Zul'Gurub as a raid instance and redesign of Echo Islands as a troll starting zone).

See ya later.

One enemy group that is woefully underused in MMOs is COMMUNISTS.

I wouldn't mind killing so many giant spiders if they were giant COMMIE spiders, or boars if they were BOLSHEVIK boars, or orcs if they were PINKO orcs.

[removes tongue from cheek]

Boars, bears and wolves especially after playing Lotro. It used to be a bit of a joke that Lotro should have been called Safari Online, due to the amount of time spent killing the local wildlife.

Animals. And any enemy group that is reused over and over in your adventure even if you get stronger. Seriously, I'm level 70 and murlocs still give me trouble? Every MMO does this. The recycled monster fight no different then the ones you fought at level 10, yet at high levels, they still give you trouble because OH, they are your level. Yeah...right. Does this make sense?

Bandits, who are universally evil and irredeemable unless a quest specifically says so.
