Kudos for picking up on that Champions Online comment thread, when I first read the comments comparing Cryptic with Goldman Sachs I remember it jumping out off the page at me a little bit as it seemed such an odd (if not insightful) comparison.

Your site is still too white!

At least I am seeing some pics up top that break up the whiteness. I notice they are larger. So, that's one step in the right direction. Do some more.

I totally enjoy exploration, in games -- I thought (while I was playing it, at least) that Fallen Earth had a bit of that, but not nearly enough. I haven't played Vanguard, but I hope that more games learn from this, and make exploration more rewarding, even if it's just aesthetically.

As far as rift is concerned, I think that ElfLove hit the nail on the head as to exactly what makes rifts so much fun. I understand that some players love turning their mmo experience into regimented military operations (I once was in an EQ guild that was sort of like that)., But that's not at all fun for most players.

BTW, more about Rift -- I was in an impromptu Rift event yesterday in the Beta, and there was a mob that was periodically healing himself when it was attacked at the wrong time (the damage would heal it). One of the players was literally trying to bully a few others who didn't have a clue into doing the right thing. Now, I have no problem with helping someone to learn, but a much better response would have been to back off, when he realized that the people were not listening to him (personally, I tend to tune out bullying as well). That's EXACTLY what I don't want to happen to Rift events, to make them into unpleasant experiences for anyone. Challenging can be good, but some people really need to chill out some. It's a game, and making others miserable is not supposed to be part of it.
