Very addictive game, but it can get on your nerves pretty quickly.

@Zuljundwumn yeah... especially when you play a while and realize that the russian tanks are just hopelessly overpowered ;)

I like my German tanks, they are a lot of fun to play. Granted, those Russian tanks are just brutal.

"World of Tanks features over 150 historically accurate armored vehicles"

This is a lie, they are not historically accurate, some never even left the drawboard and the russian tanks are just so OP that you just might well scream BIAS but then again devs and mods won't care. This is world of Russian Tanks.

Plus the grind is so exhausting and every battle is just a campfest, do not try this game it is a waste of time, I was a beta tester and I went up to the Tiger II and it's just not worth it

There is clearly a bias, no tank from wither germany or the USA is evenly matched with their russian counterpart, just check the forums and you'll notice something is wrong, plus you need to buy Premium in order to sustain Hight Tier tanks.

Meaning: You play 5 times with lower tiered tanks to play 1 time with yout high tier tank only to be blown by roflarty in the the first 3 minutes. what a waist.

I agree that the Russian tanks are a bit OP, but this IS beta so I have faith that the devs will make some adjustments before launch...we just have to wait and see. It's definitely leaning more toward "arcade" than "simulation". Think CS:S with tanks. Strategy plays a hugh part in this game which helps the OP problem. I highly recommend finding an active group to play with. I found a great group here @ http://www.116thpanzer.com/.

The clan wars system, which has yet to be introduced to westerners, will offer battles on a global scale and will be biased towards the defenders time zone. No 3am defence needed. IMO, this game is going to have much more depth than people think once they get all the bells and whistles in place.

Beta is a great time to hop in and learn your tanks and develop and improve tactics before release. There are 10 leader boards to highlight exceptional players in different areas of play. A very active and mature forum community is also nice.

Also, its f2p with a p2p option which they are aiming to be around 10 bucks a month. See you on the field of battle!

@Somnipherum-"World of Tanks features over 150 historically accurate armored vehicles" This is not a lie. A few of the vehicles in game were prototypes, one-offs, or designs that never made it to production. It doesn't mean they aren't historically accurate. Taken from WoT FAQ:

"What types of armored vehicles are presented in the game?

World of Tanks features armored vehicles from Germany and the Soviet Union that were produced and designed starting from early 30’s and up to the Korean war. Gamers can have light, medium, and heavy tanks, as well as tank destroyers and long-range self-propelled howitzers. Apart from real tanks, the game will include prototype vehicles, such as the American T1E2, the Soviet IS-7, or the German E Series tanks."

The matches are capped at 15mins. If you keep getting wasted in the first 3, you have no strategy mate. Not trying to be rude, just sayin.

"Wir werden Sieger - durch unsren Tiger" - (We will be victorious - thanks to our Tigers)

@Denzo76 Great points! Nice to see an experienced tanker in WoT approach the comments from a mature and rationed point of view.

I'm extremely surprised by how great this game actually is. I have to admit, I was expecting it to be just another cheap "MMO wannabe" with lobbies, but I was dead wrong. This game has some depth.

There is quite a lot of strategy involved in it, as well. You have to be good at analyzing (and/or memorizing) maps if you want to have any chance of surviving most battles. You also have to know your role and play to your tank's strengths at all times.

As for the Russians being overpowered, I'm sure that's true regarding SOME specific high tier tanks, but as far as Tank Destroyers are concerned, I still think the German ones are better. At least the ones I've tried...

Awesome game ! been playing for quite a while (since this summer) and can only say good about it. Wargaming.net is great, i believe in their vision :D. About the russian "op-ness", my view is that they are just easier to use, but in no way hard to beat in a experienced german "tanker" I play almost Exclusively german tanks, and although the Vk4502 and the Tiger 2 might need some love, they are good, fun tanks, they just require different playstyles then their russian counterparts
