@Channel84

I don't think you can compare the two games. Bloodline Champions is purely arena pvp.

BLC is much more hardcore in every way. I play LoL alot, my ELO is pretty high (yes, I'm tryhard) but in BLC I just get pwned. No matter Solo Q or premade with friends: BLC is so hard to master and so unforgivable for newbs that I dont even want to play it again.

@Phenomen
Lol, what?

I am mid/high ELO in LoL and had no problem winning most of my matches in BC, right off the bat.

BC is certainly a very focused game, you either like it or you dont, and its all about the competition. But you are matched against equal opponents and will have no problems finding fun matchups (albeit a tiny tad of AI training before that first match is probably a good idea).

I definately do not consider BC to be less newbie-friendly than LoL, I'd say its much the same (though learning to play BC is a lot quicker, as it is a far more focused/narrow game)

Bloodline has 6 skills I think? It is also a lot more chaotic and lots of running around. It is kind of like a 3rd person team vs team battle royale on a smallish map.
I prefer LoL, bloodline was too chaotic for me.

Bloodlines is just an arena game, it's not a DoTA-style game.

I played it back in beta and it was pretty fun, was really hard to find NA matches though so I had to play EU a lot of times. Also the limited amount of characters kind of sucked.

You really need to enable the Dynamic Camera instead of using the default mode. Dynamic mode follows you cursor instead of following your Champion, and it makes a huge difference once you get used to it.

I played the beta awhile ago and loved the living crap out of it. I told all my friends its the best PvP game ever!

I dont commit to these games tho because i get bored of PvP pretty quickly. I like it casually. I love Bloodlines gameplay for sure.

This is an excellent PvP game in the sense that nobody can outfarm or outlevel you. There are no PvE elements like in LoL, HoN or DotA. There is only pure skill.

After Guild Wars this is the only game onto which PvP I'm hooked on. It's very well balanced, and everything in the game can be unlocked for free with Bloodcoins which you get from just playing the game. Games are fast and last 0-5 minutes per round, so it's also casual friendly. You can just turn it on and be in a game within 30 seconds, play for 1-2 hours and log off.

Spread the word guys and support this great young studio :)

I must say mr.Hindman that I am very sceptical about you reviewing a game like this when you profess early on that you aboslutely hate the genre. I cannot see how that could ever make for a fair review?

To your credit you are very honest about it, and you are actually quite positive (despite yourself), but I still find it very unfair to a this small independent game studio to put a "hater" on the reviewing side.

Think about it; if you actually like this game, despite trying so hard not to, how might someone who also enjoy the genre review it? I'm not asking for a fanboy, but someone with experience in - and a liking for - games like LoL, HoN, WoW arena, would probably have a lot to say about how this game measures up to its competition.

My only experience with both of these games is as a solo player looking for a good time.

That said, BLC totally kicked my rump. I am probably not the twitchiest of players, and that definitely hurt me here. I had a good time, but always felt that I sucked so bad that I was letting my team down. But I did find it entertaining to watch. I found the community to be a bit more... abusive, than LoL's on the whole. Not that I haven't ran into a few chest thumping mouth breathers in LoL as well.

For me I preferred the more sedate pace of LoL and it's mix of PvP and PvE. But I can totally understand someone like the fast pace rushed of the pure arena style of BLC. I also felt that even when I had no clue what I was doing in LoL, I could still contribute some.

I found as a newbie, who didn't want to spend any money, it was easier to get into LoL. After finishing the tutorial and the 3 times through the advanced tutorial (maybe 90minutes total), I had enough to buy a T1 champion that was newbie friendly. I still had to play a random toon once in a while (until I get my 3rd one :)

But for BLC after tutorials, single player against bots, and a few regular matches, I had maybe 2000 blood coins. Considering I needed 17000 blood coins for any of the bloodlines (characters), this would take a long time to buy one. So I would be at the total mercy of the random bloodlines of the week. I could fork out 10€ that would let me by 2 bloodlines. So it's not so bad if I was willing to spend money :)

As others have said, these two games are completely different. Both are fun depending upon what you are looking for. I found that when I just wanted a quick fix of killing (or getting killed by) my fellow man, BLC was great. When I wanted a more sedate pace with a good mix of pvp and pve elements with both a macro and micro game, LoL is my game of choice.

BLC is a great competitive game. It's just been so long since a game has challenged this specific set of skills needed to play a game like this that people seem to have forgotten them. Play it like an FPS. Taking potshots from cover and must importantly, stay out of harms way until your opener is off cooldown so you can combo your spells properly. Only come out to spam your M1 attack if you are sure you are safe.

I'm loving this game just because I've seen some pretty crazy comebacks and setups working pretty well, but like everyone has said the only problem is the lack of players, but that is out of the developers hands.
