It's like a witch doctor muttering over a steaming cauldron, sprinkling very unidentifiable powder into the bubbly liquid, then look up very dramatically and say with a grand flourish, "Westernization!" All very mysterious, yes.

That said, the only difference between NA/EU Tera and Korea Tera that I am aware of is: Korea Tera only has PvP servers, while NA/EU Tera would have both PvE and PvP servers. There's probably some other differences, I confess I did not follow the game closely.

I've heard En Masse Entertainment is responsible for pushing console controller support to be added to Korea Tera and some players who have tried it claimed controller gameplay feels good.

Honestly, I've started to lose interest in the game because each time I see an article on massively,it's only PR bull*$#^ with no real information.

Towards the end I was stRting to elect a response to the questions like: "Tera is... I honestly don't know what it is. Is it a game? It's something and were trying to westernize it. Honestly, I'm just trying to drag this out as long as I can to keep getting a paycheck."

It was kinda a useless interview. Why all the secrets? It's not like we dont know anything about the game. It's out in Korea already. So it's not like they can really surprise us with something unless they really make some. Major changes which would probably be a mistake.

I'm still really looking forward to it. I just hope they don't F it up on their effort to "westernize" it.

I just want to see it for myself. The Aion connection/vibe bothers me, but it's not fair to them or fair to me to judge Tera on tenuous connections to another game. I've been avoiding the hype to temper my own expectations. The collision tanking looks awesome, as does the healing in an action-oriented setting, but we'll see. I wish them well at any rate.

Just replace the word TERA with AION in the game and you have the same interview he gave about Aion.

@Alex Oglitchkin

Holy crap... I didn't know Knox was also the producer for Aion. Man, I'm outta touch. That explains a lot... Now I'm a bit worried.

@Morbius Yes, and that#s the reason I don't feel like buying Tera. I'll probably give RIFT a go if they change the crappy running and mount animations and then wait it out for GW2. Try Magicka for a change. They should repair the networking within the next week.

It's a game filled with badgers.

You're concerned about localisation?

Badgers. Yes, badgers.

Badgers.

@Sharuk I may be ignorant but every title that comes from the east feels kinda grindy, Aion included (so it's not a matter of polishing but of design). Tabula Rasa was at the beginning an effort to have one product for both markets, but NC Soft horendously failed in the attempt. NC Soft abandoned that idea and split the east/west devs back as they were. The final version of Tabula Rasa was clearly western and then failed but for completely different reasons.

What I want to say is that the "Westernization" (which is more correctly said "Localization") of eastern designs totally fails. You can localize content, not structure, and game play is structure.

As much as they try to localize gameplay, it still will feel very Korean (excellent example: Aion, which tried hard but totally feels eastern).

That's why I turned away from TERA. The screenshots already tell me that I have to expect a very eastern product, which cannot hit my taste.

I wish TERA all the best, but in Korea where they can make a LOT of money. I hope the western market will keep on making there own products, which are WESTERN BY DESIGN and need no westernization.

So, I express my opinion by saying that (for ANY MMO, not just TERA) westernization => *NO INTEREST ON MY PART*.

Translate it to english and remove all the stupid cat ears from all the humanish races. Done. (this can be applied successfully to every asian game)

@Russell Clarke WUT? I want negative diameters? Or no eyes at all? How the hell are you going to reduce eyes beyond nothingness?

Ok, maybe the folks at EM/BH aren't seeing the problem, so here it is:

You cannot release an MMO in North America that has:
-a half-naked little-girl sized playable race that you can see the panties of, while playing.

(Yes, the Elin)

FULL STOP.
FAIL WHALE!

There. The "Westernization" of Tera will require modification of the Art assets. If you do not, and this is the part where you need to pay attention here BH/EM:

You will FAIL.

Take out the freaking peekaboo-panties pedo-friendly CRAP. Ok? THAT is what "Westernization" means. Now go do it !

@mxt4347564czjv00q9w9qb1tppfr46hb That's both yes and no. Westernization doesn't include North America only. Count in Europe and Canada and what ever else counts itself as Western.
I personally don't hate the loli, but I can't say I'd play one. Similiar seems to be true in most of Europe, not perfectly sure about that, though. Leave it in for those who like it, there's no criminals born by letting them live their fantasies in undangerous territory, really. Taking them away is what might cause the one or the other unstable idiot to rage and snap.
Besides, what's the problem with panties? If you don't like them, choose armor that doesn't show panties. Not like we don't already see them in four of five advertisements. You guys oughta get over it, really. :D
