Battlestar Galactica Online is looking A LOT better than I first thought when I began reading articles about this.

Not bad for a browser based game, graphics are pretty good but will have to see what the game play is like. The article Beau wrote did a excellent job of explaining somewhat of what will be expected of the MMO.

I'm a huge fan of BSG, but the trailer was a bit disappointing. When I think about the reimagined BSG I think of epic dogfights with tons of Raptors and Raiders flying all around; the trailer barely even shows more than one ship in the same shot.

I've been seeing a lot of people complaining about the quality of the in-game graphics for this trailer. Personally, I think for a browser based MMO it looks pretty darn good. Props to Big Point.

Just based on the trailer I'd have to say it looks pretty good. The only thing is the character animations look a bit clunky when they are running but the space shots look really good. Can't wait to hear more about these game, thumbs up.

@Thasri

I'm fine with the robot looking clunky when running ;)

But the human could be smoothed out a bit...

Hey that looks a hell of a lot better than i thought a browser-based F2P title would!. I may have to check this out and see what the gameplay is like.

I still want to know if it's going to be plagued with the same religious propaganda as the TV series.

@Vagrant Zero

Oh never that. They definitely wouldn't want ME in their ranks.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I prefer my sci-fi minus angels, Jesus, "the one true god" etc. etc. And clearly Larson didn't like it either - what with BSG now getting a second reboot.

I wouldn't even mind if it wasn't so stealthy - if religious folk want to make religious TV shows, good for them. We all know what Moore is like now, after BSG and Caprica and I don't anyone would be surprised if his new show has strong religious overtones. But I reckon most of us watching BSG were expecting a sci-fi explanation for everything, not "God did it".

That final episode was a bit of a Crying Game moment for me.

The Cylons - did someone manage to send them a memo about The Plan this time around?

Seriously though, despite some of the shortcomings of the TV-series, this looks quite impressive for a browser game. I think I might want to give it a go.

I think it looks great for a browser game. I do think BSG deserves better though. IMO it was and will be the best thing ever made on TV.

Hmmm, looks terrible to me, but then what do I know.

It probably won't be a popular thing to say, but I'm gonna mention it anyway, as soon as I sat 'Browser based' I was instantly turned off. I'm sure there is a time and a place for browser based stuff and I obviously don't get it, but if ever an IP deserved a 'Proper' game then surely it is BSG.

I would have thought that many of the people who would play a BSG game would be the type to have decent gaming rigs and know what they are doing with PC's, rather than the Farmville crowd who I just don't see playing. But, like I said, what do I know, I'm sure they've done their research and there is a market there for them, I guess this game just isn't targetted at the like of myself.

Hope they will fix the animation. Why don't these developers
simply buy motion capture animation for cheap and use it, in the game.
Saves time and money.

The space battles seem OK from the looks of it, but we won't really know
until we get to play it.

Sure it looks "pretty good" for a "browser based game", but that's exactly the problem I have with it. The new Battlestar Galactica series was a profoundly good production. I have yet to see a tv drama that was done as well, let alone a sci-fi show. This game, from what I have seen of it so far, in no uncertain terms does an unjustice to the franchise. As a fan of the show I expect nothing less than a top quality AAA MMO, and this is not it.

@Ordegar My thoughts exactly. They lost my interest at "browser-based." It kinda feels like a waste.. seeing money spent on something that's guaranteed to fail. WTB real Battlestar MMO.
