We care what an, at best, mildly successful developer says why?

@Tempes Magus I kind of agree about the direction where games seem to be heading in. There seems to be less and less differences we can notice between some instanced mmos and "regular" games with multiplayer. Or as another example TDU2. You have a game similar to NFS online only the islands are huge and you can do several other things like get out of the car and pimp your avatar, play poker, buy houses etc in an mmo-type world. But you can also play and experience the career entirely in the single player. So the future of games will be a synergy of different elements from many genres of games.
As for this guy, he's just smoking his own belly button lint.

Hey says : "Instead, most developers will make games with deep mechanics, designed for heavy replay value mixed with community content."

Wait... that sounds like an MMO?

totally wrong. the global market is huge, there is room for MMOs and for the games he makes (that is, disposable mobile old-style 1978 ATARI games for iPhone).

as I see it, mobile games will be more social/MMO than that, right the opposite. I can understand that his wish is what he is stating, but that really is just wishful thinking. he should not get confused in his head about what he wants and what customers want.

on the other hand, he's free to think and say what he wants. nobody can argue about his opinion. still, don't say it as if it was written in stone, because it is not.

Proving that you can basically know nothing about any thing, and still develop iphone apps, I guess.

Any one who thinks MMOs are going away any time soon is retarded, period. Anything with the potential to make such massive amounts of money is not going to go away. MMOs may change and evolve, but go away? No chance.

Am I the only one who senses deep sarcasm in every word he said? I think he was jsut trying to be funny. If you read everything he says and give it its opposite meaning, it makes total sense. :p

An iPhone app developer?

You are kidding right?

Stick to your basic coding skills knob.

If only we could say the same for phones that cost 700 dollars because there's an Apple logo on it.

3 letters.

L. O. L.

It's amazing how a little bit of fame, the want to impress and the spotlight can come together to make a person talk complete nonsense in a bid to impress.

And no, I don't find the hats thing funny, intriguing, not internet meme worthy.

Haha. Oh, man.

I'd say I was just making a joke in that interview answer, but no, that would be taking the easy way out. I never make jokes.

I seriously believe that developers will stop making social games (like Farmville) and MMO's (like Farmville).
