...one day, we will sit on Hellscream's thrown and rule over Orgrimma with an iron pink pigtail.

@Tempes Magus

Then it's obvious we have to work on our branding a bit better. :)

That's not 1,000. In fact, I'm sure that's just a number thrown out there.

But what it is is really cool, though!

Does this Gnome invasion have anything to do with the new Gnome-movie? Lol

Thanks I needed a laugh and that fit the bill.

Nice to see some people in wow (or any mmo for that matter) who are doing something just for the sheer fun of it. Not that going after raid progression/general questing etc isn't fun its just sometimes people forget that its is supposed to be fun and may take things a tad too seriously (for my own taste)

"Let's give this a little more direction. Everyone needs to rez and get their picture taken with Garrosh. You figure out the inbetween parts".

Brilliant!

That's epic. I think my favorite scene is the dog pile onto the tram. (too bad we couldn't see how many people accidently fell off the tram and had to run half of the way to SW)

Also I think the 1,000 gnome title is more of a reference to the "Million Man March" than anything else but that is merely a guess.

On the logistics side I wonder if they had a couple max level characters hidden in the crowd to try and keep mobs and players off everyone a bit. You'd still have level 1s dropping like flies but you could cut down on it a bit and if you removed your gear it'd be hard to spot you in the crowd.

I just wonder who was in charge of counting them.

Reminds me of similar events with dwarves (see www.warcrafthuntersunion.com). They do a lot of this on the Icecrown server.

it was probably pretty close to 1,000 overall as there was over 1,200 in the live stream chat room when this event took place.

Here are some screenshots I took during the event if you are interested in checking them out.

I remember this was done in Dark Age of Camelot way, way back then. Players started to roll lurikeen characters and swarmed the Guinevere roleplay server. There were hundreds of them in one guild (I think it's called Lurikeen United or something), all with their names ending in "-keen".

To commemorate the event, Mythic opened the Hero (main tank) class to the diminutive race.

Our server was down so we rolled gnomes and headed for the dark portal to take on the Pit Commander!
