Lol, I hope you weren't taking me seriously Viiral . :)

@ the rest of you: I think it's a little more Guild Wars in mechanics than anything. Accept the for the spontaneous Rifts...I think those are new.

@Viiral. This Druid sounds an awful lot like a WoW Shaman, just reskin the totems into a Fae.

*Cough*
WoW ripoff.

That sounds like a really fun class, it certainly strikes my lore fancy.

Its a pretty decent soul. The fairy/pet heals you in and out of combat - good for leveling/melee cleric builds with no healing soul equipped. I didn't go very deep into the Druid soul but it has some pretty nice abilities.

Its kind of sad people always think of WoW druids. How about EQ druids? I didnt play cleric in beta, but this game is VERY promising. Hopefully, they wont try to be a WoW killer, and just try and create a really good game.

@Redfenris Yep, I too hope they just try to do their own thing and be good at it. Though one of their first videos had the line "we're not in Azeroth anymore"... so it does seem they're trying to take WoW head on.

I play Justicar in CB1 and switched over to Druid the next chance I had. While the choice in pets is non-existent (you can either choose a Fairy or a...Fairy until you get to level 50 and can choose a demonic looking Satyr), the abilities themselves are fun. It's mainly melee focused, but has a few ranged attacks and mezzes. I found it more fun than Justicar or Shaman if you want a melee-oriented Cleric. It is very solo-oriented, though.

@Wisdomandlore This is exactly what I didn't like about the various "pet" classes I've tried, there aren't any choices till much higher levels. So all necro's for instance pretty much look/play alike (with not very significant differences really). Love to see someone do pet classes like old EQ mages where you could summon the elemental of your choice for the situation....

@Saker

Like they did in Aion you mean? (several elemental based pets for the Spiritmaster). Mind you I haven't played EQ so I might be wrong.

to me this game has the good looks, but than fairies and dwarfs with pink translucent wings ...why oh why?! I'm looking at the concept art pieces and see grit, dark and gloom, where is that reflected in game?
I know things are in a continuum transformation in the art direction department, but damn it! some douche from marketing had to open his mouth about how grit, dark and gloom won't sell...
ranting and feeling better.

I don't like Rift's take on druids. Especially since they're naturally going to be compared to WoW, whose druid class is absolutely amaaaahzing, I was very surprised by Rift's druids.

By themselves, they're an ok melee/pet soul. But make a direct comparison to WoW druids and Rift druids suck.

I'm glad to see the satyr pet picture though. I'd been wondering what they look like.

Umm this isnt wow - and I take it WOW is the only MMO you've ever played. People reeeealy need to stop comparing games like this.

"The earliest recorded mention of the druids comes from circa 200 BCE, mentioned the existence of Druidas...." - Wikipedia

OMG - Stop copying the Greeks!!!
