"We haven't said much recently, and we're not saying much now. One day we will! But not today. Hopefully soon! Not now though. And when we do say something, this might be where you read it! not now, obviously, because we've not said anything. but this is us, saying that we're not saying anything. You know, yet."

Best press release/interview ever.

Now that EA is co-publishing, any chance we will see Erling Ellingsen and Paul Barnett team up to hype this game?

@Duulin that would be hilarious and probably make any hype this game had go down the drain.

surely EA is going to put more marketing effort into The Old Republic instead of this rival mmo. You can say they are "aimed at different people" but actually i think a modern day 'secret' mmo has much of the same 'casual' appeal as star wars.

So... you interviewed them about when they're gonna toss you some more unsupported hype? How exciting.

I'm a big fan of Dreamfall and seeing as the same team that made that game is working on this one, I hope the same level of storytelling is present here too.

Completely lost interest in this game when they decided they were going with a cash shop.

Ive been following this game somewhat. The class/skill mechanic is interesting. They have been pretty tight-lipped on things So it will be nice if they open up on stuff soon.

Let's see...

1) They've using puzzle/mystery-style alternate reality advertising to hype what looks to be a fairly bland action mmo...
2)Developed by funcom... even in a genre full of broken promises these guys seem to have it mastered.
3) published by EA... because forcing games to release 6-12 months too early is always a good idea!

The only way this game could be set up for bigger fail is if they hired Bill Roper and Richard Garriott and offered a founders only lifetime subscription scam.

@Waxil

LOL

Though, I'm quietly optimistic for TSW.

I'd struggle to find anything good to say about AoC but TSW's open skill system and the combat state systems (a bit like City of Heroes' power secondary effects) have my interest.

There's still the potential for them to get it horribly wrong - but I'm hoping they've learned from the enormous financial beating they took from AoC and will get this one right.

Ummm, nice 'interview'...
Why is there only 3 questions? How could you seriously consider this an interview?

Since EA got in the boat i think the game will be released much sooner because they need to see profit. That means the polish will come after the game is launched :). Yes history repeats itself

Jef, didn't you just write the editorial piece about "game journalism" and its lack of hard-hitting questions when dealing with gaming executives and employees?

Massively.com gets an exclusive interview, and we get 3 questions that basically ask, "What kinds of new information will your reveal? In what ways will you reveal that new information? Whose involvement is driving you to reveal new information?"

Couldn't you maybe have asked for some, you know, actual new information? Somehow, I expected more after your last article.

@Nandini The Soapbox was where Jef got to confess his sins; now he's back to committing them so he has something to talk about in future articles. :-)

(I actually thought the point of that Soapbox article was to say, "Don't expect too much of us - we're bloggers, not journalists!".)
