Launch date for Earthrise is drawing near, and those curious about Masthead Studios' sci-fi sandbox now have a bit more information to chew on thanks to the release of a new beta video. The clip features PvE and PvP gameplay, and also offers a glimpse into several locations around the world of Enterra, including the Cascade Mountains, Seyenand, and Sal Vitas square. New equipment is also on display during the combat portions of the video, and you'll be able to see a T5 core flamer, a shielding bubble, and other equipment in action.
The Earthrise beta is also taking on new testers according to Masthead CEO Atanas Atanasov, so head over to the official website to sign up if you haven't already. "We are adding new testers every day, and our team continues to take all the feedback and suggestions from players into consideration as we progress toward launch in February," Atanasov said.

Hmm... this video is very poor, it's almost comical.

I agree too.
I've been following Earthrise forever and it's open skill character design and pvp sandboxiness are so far up my alley they're halfway to the next neighbourhood.
But somehow both beta vids we've seen so far have completely failed to impress.

1000% agreed. You know that game is scheduled to release Feb. 1st right? When I was watching it, felt like I was watching in slow motion or something. The concept of the game is great but they are just failing to deliver any thing that remotely seems entertaining.

What I find especially concerning is the lack of details on the combat system. It started as FPS, then changed into a hybrid. They got bad feedback from on that from people who watched the video and went back to the drawing board.
And they've repeatedly promised details and a new combat vid but here we are a month before release still waiting.
It doesn't inspire confidence.

Some flickering shadows, but overall a big improvement since last ones I saw.

2011 is looking to be more like the year of the Sci-Fi MMO.
Genre similarities aside, this looks a lot like Tabula Rasa. :D Hopefully this game will be good.

I'm interesteed in this title, but the PVE honestly looks a little klunky. For example when they are suddenly surrounded by enemies the players just stand there and fire there guns at them with out any obvious complex actions or stratagies. Mabey they were just easy mobs? I wonder if from the players perspective it is more interesting.

Hmm. I wouldn't mind trying it out. Environments and characters look good but why does the character movement and gameplay seem so wonky? Seems more like an alpha rather than a beta.

It looks like a great MMO that could use 6 more months of polishing.
I really hope they have workable product at launch ...

Fights look so static and slow paced oÔ
Better than the first video they released, but sadly i'm still not impressed at all :/
I also noticed some lag during the video ... not a good new as dev computers use to be quite "optimized".
Poor quelity environment textures too (see the ground?) ... uggly, looks like Aion's ones :p
Btw, a sandbox futuristic MMO can be refreshing :)
But wont buy/preorder/give them money if i didnt put my hands in first. Be in in beta, or with a "good" free trial.

It still looks horrible and the combat still looks horrible.

I've been looking forward to seeing where this game goes and the future isn't looking too bright. Obvious lag/stuttering when just running around. Stand there and shoot gameplay (although the melee looks more fun).
This is just not looking good if this is the video they put together for some hype. They are killing themselves right now releasing videos like this.

Hopefully this video was some sort of joke.
Animations and combat looked horrible. Stiff and uninteresting.
That did not sell their game well at all.

Most games like this would have had an epic trailer fooling everyone into thinking it's something it's not. If I can give them one praise it's that they showed actual footage so that we can make an actual informed conclusion.

I would agree very much with this. I am willing to give a company that really puts their product on display more time, even when we can see the graphics are not up to par with other titles. CGI commercials have always bothered me. I could care less how awesome your CGI film clip looks, let me see the actual product. Being that Earthrise has been talked about for their open skill system and detailed crafting system, I would put the graphics lower on my list of priorities at launch anyway.
If Fallen Earth has proven one thing is that you can launch with outdated and underwhelming graphics and just update them when some cash comes in. Get the mechanics right then work on the fancy graphics. TR looked good at launch but that did not help it much.
