no to that. If old people can't stand change, then it's a fault with them. I actually don't like free to play, but this article raises a good point. People like change, which is why the "change" mantra won someone the 2008 election. [not that i agree with what has happened since] Basically, free to play is more options, just like easier death penalty is another option, or no corpse runs is another option. Go back to Ultima Or everquest.

Please tell me there is quality content.... Somewhere? Cause this ain't it. Most of us are social misfits anyway, what purpose did this serve? Did Beau write up the MMO sports caption the other day too?

@Nerves Actually, you hit it perfectly on the head. This is a more modern attempt at saying "Get off my lawn." It's basically a joke -- if you notice, I am actually claiming that the most brilliant minds might come out of this modern noise.

I can't believe I have to explain this. hehe But yeh, It's not an attempt to insult anyone...it's actually closer to making fun of those who *are* angry at free-to-play, and myself.

Problem is, many readers don't go much beyond the headline, and text carries tone very poorly as a rule. So, I fear that a lot of readers are going to miss the self-deprecating satire here

Yeh the hair flip makes me want to punch teenagers in the face. Also, I will dance in the streets when this skinny jeans fad goes away. But mostly, it's the texting that I can't stand. Not that I don't like texting general. It's that kids can't put their phones down for 5 minutes. The grocery store where I shop has a lot of high school kids working there. Every time I go I see some jerk off off to the side texting instead of working. I make it a point to walk up to them and tell them they need to get back to work every time I see it. SMS stands for short message service, not carry on conversations all day everyday.

/end rant

A guy once told me to stop f***ing texting, get back to work and show him where the imported wines were in a liquor store. It was a bit rude, especially since I didn't work there. : /

@Colin

When you are wearing an HEB (the name of the grocery store) polo shirt and hiding around the corner from the cash registers, you work there and are f***ing off. I worked at a grocery store in high school and we weren't even allowed personal calls unless it was an emergency. The front desk took a message and gave it to you when you went on break.

Also I spent 6 years as a retail manager, so I can spot a slacker a mile off. Yeh, it may be rude. But, an individual not working on the clock is the same as stealing from the store. Loss of profit affects the prices of the merchandise. Therefore the lazy kid texting instead of working is making me pay more for my Cheetos, and paying more for Cheetos makes me rant on the internet.

Also I'm a grumpy a-hole. That could explain part of it I guess.

I don't think it has anything to do with age.

@Nerves

Yes, internet access at work is the #1 cause for wasted work time for "adults". People in general are getting more and more distracted at work. But, this article was focused on a certain age group. Therefore, that was the focus of my comment. I agree with you though, it's not an issue of age, it's a cultural issue.

But I still don't like children or teenagers. At all. Or people in their low to mid 20's..... hehe

@Colin You should have told him you didn't work there, and then punched him in the face for being a total A@@hole! Seriously, that's what those kind of people need. Nothing less will shock them out of their A@@holery. The bourgeois capitalist a@@hole needs to be taken down a few steps.
