With RIFT launching in the very near future, Trion Worlds is resting on its laurels and doing absolutely nothing... by which we mean the exact opposite. The team is looking for new staff to help develop the yet-unnamed action MMO created in partnership with SyFy, currently just named the "SyFy Action MMO." This in and of itself is good news for those who had thought the project had been abandoned, but it gets even more interesting when you realize that two of the jobs are targeting XBox 360 programmers.
Assuming that the game is targeting the 360 -- which seems likely under the circumstances -- it would join Final Fantasy XI as one of the only MMO options on the console. That would be a significant boon from a marketing perspective, as would the show/game integration promised back when rumors first began surfacing. The 360 programmers are not explicitly linked to the long-dormant game, but neither are they linked to the two existing games in Trion's stable. Although the job listing alone doesn't promise a future for the game, it's a step in the right direction for what might be a very different take on MMOs after all.

...Syfy... /facepalm
Now that that's out of the way, if it's going to be on the X-Box it should not go with a monthly fee system. Just because I'm sure to play it online you'll need to have a paid XBox account.

I'm all for console folk having MMO options but you seem to have forgotten the soon to be released DCUO and the only-for-console Undead Labs zombie mmo.
And for what it's worth, TRION has always had a lot of console programmers. There was a video interview with Scott Hartsman about a year ago in which he makes much of the fact that a lot of the people working on Rift (from memory I think he said about half) came from console backgrounds and how this helped to keep them on target, because with console programming the limits are more finite.

Full marks for stating the obvious?
Here's another one - PS3 is a console.

Well since it's in partnership with SyFy channel, it's probably a wrestling MMOG.

Actually, if I remember right, its because "Sci-Fi" was copyrighted and something, and the people running the channel didn't want to pay the fines or fees associated with keeping the name.
It doesn't change the fact that I've lost interest in the channel besides the occasional Ani-monday, or Bruce Campbell movie. Like Cartoon Network, they gutted all the good stuff out so they could add more sh** in, with only the occasional gem showing up for a moment.

Xbox and MMO don't belong in the same sentence together.
Epic fail.

I'm not so sure about that. Years ago, gamers laugh at the idea of playing FPS on console controllers. Then Microsoft came along and proved them all wrong.

I dunno, pit a KB/M FPS gamer against a console FPS gamer, and the PC player will likely win. Console FPSs have a whole lot of aim assist extras to account for the coarse control you have with a joystick.
The fact that millions of people play FPSs on a console is something, for sure. But I'd put my money on the KB/M players in a competition.

I call it first: Farmville in Space.
Players will grow plants in space via hydroponics to feed far-flung space colonies. By carefully altering the amount of light, temperature and carbon dioxide, the plants will turn out differently. Oh, and players will have to watch out for space debris that might smash into their gardens in the sky.

@Jade Effect I thought Farmville was dethroned by Cityville which will be taken down next by Stateville, Nationville,Planetville and then Spaceville.
