With launch for DC Universe Online slated for next week, there is a veritable flood of new heroes and villains popping up in Gotham and Metropolis. Aside from running down bad guys (or foiling the heroics of the good guys), many are just enjoying the end of days, as the final days of beta can often net some great stories! Today we have a screenshot from Fenlock, who decided to stop and do a bit of sightseeing along with all his villain-battling. He writes in: "[Here's a screenshot of] Supes' statue in DC Universe Online, with my character Vale on his shoulder! This is in the park just off of Midtown Metropolis. Loving the beta by the way -- can't wait for January 11th!"
One Shots is all about what you, the players, are doing. If you'd like to share your screenshots and experiences with everyone, then gather them up and send them to us here at oneshots@massively.com along with your name, the name of the game, and a brief description. We'll post them out here and give you the credit for sending it in.

how do you get your game to look this nice? i have a beefy machine, and turn all the graphics settings up to max, and everything still looks low-rez. i see everyone else's screenshots, and i think i must be missing some setting...

Isn't that just the default, I haven't touched the settings on mine and in game for me everything looks like that.

I've been really enjoying the Beta of this game. I have already Pre-order it on both PS3 and PC. This is hands down the best Superhero MMO I've ever enjoyed.
Voice'd Missions and Mentors
Working with DC Heros and Villans is fantastic
Batman Mentor + Scarecrow = Awesomeness .... Every Mentor in the game has something to bring to the table, making the replay value of this game insane. =)
Anyone that has Plus for PSN can play this game it's a 14gig download, but worth it.

How can I download the Beta....?
I got my closed beta email a few weeks ago but the l;ink seems inactive and redirects to http://www.dcuniverseonline.com/ even if I am logged into my station account.
Also, oddly, I can see the forums and am registered and logged in but cannot post? People said there that if you can view the forums you can get the beta...
Long story short.... am I too late?

@Dartanis
I recently pre-ordered but when I submitted my proof of pre-order I was presented with a screen saying I'd already signed up for beta (which I did when sign-ups first became available months ago). I submitted a support ticket via SOE Customer Support and am yet to receive a response.
I missed out on the Massively beta give-away due to timezone difference and now it doesn't look like their system acknowledges the difference between initial beta signup and signup for beta with a pre-order receipt either.
Figuring that I might somehow been accepted but not received an e-Mail I browsed around - I'm able to view all the beta forums as well but can't post messages/threads or PM anyone.
Pretty poor/frustrating experience... I hope someone actually reviews my ticket and resolves it before beta ends and I get an opportunity to participate.

They built the game with the UT III engine. They can bump the graphics wayyy up.

And still this game will die a slow death. Its like they didn't listen to CB testers or something about the lack of max level content, character customization, etc.

They didn't listen to you, you mean. I saw them make plenty on changes based on CB feedback. Did they do everything CB testers griped about? No, but no game ever does if they are smart. Else you might end up with an unbalanced open character builder that you spend huge amounts of time trying to fix(CO)
Still, plenty of people playing DCUO beta and having fun. Lots of people on PC and PS3 say they will buy the game. I'm still logging in after 3 months and puttering around. The game is good and will do well. It has a solid foundation to build on.

Droves beta testers quit posting on the forums because they accepted the fact that SOE doesn't handle feedback. Trying to make this about "me" and not about the greater changes players were begging for to allow this game to survive the coming months is silly. To say that much of the CB feedback in a game is not used is reality. To ignore 99.9% of feedback that wasn't positive, glaring obvious or so game breaking that your grandmother could point it out is the definition of cherry picking.
People say a lot of good things in beta, people said plenty about FFXIV and much like SOE, SE ignored much of the CB and OB feedback unless it to their liking. You can see where it has gotten them. Still, I think first month sales will be good because people are always hungry to try a new MMO. However, I think we both know regardless in a couple of months once players start paying and realize that there is not anything worthwhile to keep you paying subs will go downhill. The game servers will start being condensed I bet within a year or year and half and eventually it will go the way of so many other SOE dinosaurs. They really had something special here but they decided to only get voice acting right not gameplay or content.
