While many of us have spent a great amount of time and money shopping for other people this holiday season, it's sometimes easy to overlook yourself in all of the hustle and bustle. Treat yourself to something nice this week -- you deserve it! May we suggest a gaming Snuggie for those long nights of raiding, or perhaps 50% off of Lord of the Rings Online: Siege of Mirkwood?
As part of the Turbine Tuesdays sales, the LotRO store will be selling the game's second expansion for half off the regular price this Tuesday, December 28th. Siege of Mirkwood is priced at 995 Turbine Points in the NA store (which is around $10), but on the 28th the cost will be halved to 498 ($5).
The Siege of Mirkwood expansion unlocks over 150 quests, zone deeds, five instances and plenty of content for high-level players. Currently, free players may access the zone and experience the epic storyline, but the rest of the content is walled off unless this quest pack is purchased.

And also Mines of Moria will be on sale wensday for 50% as well! Which brings it down to 1248points iirc. So you could get both expansions for as little as $17.50 total.

Sucks that I got it just a couple of days ago. But at least I got the points from the givaways on this site a week ago.

Even though I havn't played LOTRO in over a year, I somehow have 530 points on my account, so I may as well buy this pack to have it should I ever get the urge to adventure in ME again.
I do recall spending a great deal of time playing in the past, with a lvl 60 Elven Minstrel, all rep at max that were avail then, max quest slots, every trait at min rank 10, some go as high as 15{all cap at 10 though}, over 500 deeds complete...etc etc

995 points is also the cost for the final 15 expanded bank slots. $10.00. For 15 bank slots. That's 2/3 the price of one month's subscription if you're a VIP. For 15 bank slots. Did I say that already?
I see an inequality in perceived value here. Turbine does right in a lot of ways, but this is not one of them. At least, not in my book. (I'm all for the discounted Mirkwood expansion, but all against the cost of extra vaults slots.)
Has anyone done the Turbine point = gold piece = dollar math?

Hmmm, i'm sorry, how does spending 10 bucks to access or gain anything equate in any way F2P?
And folks are lapping this F2P bs up. Looks like the Turbine point=goldpiece=dollar=F2P equation needs work.
Must have went to the wrong school. Misbranding, if we say it, then it must be. (shakes head)
