Neither for me, I'm going to have to pass. IMO, it's best suited for a console -- many experienced PC MMO players will be very disappointed with how this has turned out. And since I don't want to use a console for my MMOs, I will have to pass on this one until/unless it gets a pretty big changeover down the road.

Already have it pre-ordered for the PS3. And since being in the beta these last 2 weeks, I can't wait till it goes live.

So having played it in every way playable (PC, PS3, and PC with PS3 controller), I am going PS3. The best looking client is PC obviously. Also the game is much better on a gamepad then on mouse and keyboard.

In the end I am getting the PS3 client because it is more stable then the PC client is for my computer. Also one of my friends that wants the game... his PC would explode if it ran the game. So since most of us that play together also have a PS3, we all are getting the PS3 version so we can stick together. (Boo to segregated servers, their reason of tweaking controls for the PC version separately from the PS3 version is lame!)

"I have played it both ways, and while PC will look better overall.. I think its so action oriented that its just a better fit on the PS3. Granted if you use a controller on the PC it should pretty much be the same, but overall I think it will draw more from console people than PC people."

I absolutely agree with that statement. To me, the game doesn't "feel" like an MMO, it feels like an action game. It's more geared to the console.

PC for graphics, hands down.

PS3 for gameplay mechanics.

If you play this game on a PC, get TWO mice ready because you're going to burn through one every month with all the combo moves and crazy clickerfest action.

Overall, the game will do well for SoE because they don't have anything like it already for it's customers with their other MMOs.

But if you're near 40 yrs old, bring one of those Carpal Tunnel wristgloves.

You've been warned.

I still don't know. I wish they had made the game have connected servers and allow you to purchase the game for PC and PS3 and play your character on either (I think final fantasy 11 worked that way). I kind of just want to play on the PS3 because I want to move away from my computer and play on the couch. One thing I never thought about though until beta testing is that reading is a little harder on the console. It just might be my tv but I sit really close to my computer so reading is no problem. Sitting on my couch sometimes isn't quite close enough for large amounts of small text on the console. (Oh I think I see that they may of fixed this in a patch but I haven't managed to be on recently due to work issues). I guess the last thought I have is that I have become kind of tired worrying about the specs of my computer. Computer games will always be capable of more then a console but I just don't feel like upgrading anymore. You don't have to think about that much with a console.

If I get it (and despite having been a DC fan for 15 years, I'm leaning toward "no") it'll be PC. The game as a whole seems fairly RP hostile (design wise, not player wise) and that'll only be magnified on PS3.

Why do you guys keep talking about Controls?

When I first signed into the game I was like "wtf" but then spent 5 mins and changed all the controls over to match every other MMO i've played.

And zero trouble landing combo's and the like as well...

Complaining about controls in this game just tells me the person is to lazy to configure them.

@Xsorus
I've never played a MMO where I had to hit Left Click X2, Hold, Up, Right click X3.

That's why people are talking about controls.

It's a furious amount of clicking that goes on in a spammy way.

More like the console game and less like a MMO.

PS3. It's clearly designed for console/controller play. Sadly, it is also a tad shallow. Fun, but shallow. If I were to play it though, PS3 easily wins.

I am considering getting a PS3 to play it (and to finally play Red Dead Redemption.) I'm worried the PC servers will be riddled with exploiters. For now I have it preordered on Steam for the PC.

Good: combat smoothness, runs extremely well on my machine, voice acting pretty good compared to other games, impressive world

Bad: horrid character creator, mindless CoH-launch-era mission quality

This won't be "THE" game I'm going to commit to long term I don't think. I don't want to feel burned like I did from my long term commitment to Warhammer Online. I'm going to save that kind of dedication for Guild Wars 2. (I'm also hoping Jumpgate Evolution isn't vaporware.)

I wanted this game to be a successor for COH and it is turned out to be the protegee of CO. So the answer for me would be: neither. Sorry, not interested in another action button masher. Too bad DCUO is a much better game than CO and will come out on console as well as PC.

Neither. While I would lean towards a PC version using an Xbox controller, I will be passing on this game. I don't think this game warrants a $15 month charge, it feels like it should be f2p. Game seems like it is riding the hype machine and the DC name lacks the MMO feel and setup. I know it is in beta, but it releases in about two weeks and I don't feel the game is at the release stage yet.

I doubt it will suck nearly as bad as FFXIV though hehe.

I'm a diehard DC fan and was utterly disappointed with DCUO. Same old crap as the other instanced mission grinders with the additional nuisance of a carpal tunnel inducing combat system. Was hoping for a truly massively DC Universe, not another damn theme park. I wouldn't even play it if it was F2P.

Having both the DCUO beta and CoH installed, I found myself logging into CoH and not DCUO, so I'm giving DCUO a pass until it goes f2p.

DCUO's graphics look and perform better than either CoH or CO, but the game play just isn't what I look for in an MMO, and the customization needs a lot of work (both in cosmetics and powersets).

You can't make a super-strong, invulnerable character in DCUO (especially without athematic elements like fire and ice). There's something deeply wrong with the game when that's the case.

I still hold out hope for the Marvel MMO. Here's hoping they eschew the action approach and give us a deeper MMO experience.

God, I hope you are SO right with the deeper approach. This isn't a very deep game and between Guild Wars and this, I'd say Guild Wars 'feels' more like a MMO than this does due to the controls.

It's beautiful, but God.. I wish these companies would stop trying to force console controllers INTO MMO. It's seems fail all around like in FFXIV.

Just leave it PC.

PC, I don't own a PS3. Mouse + gamepad controls are good enough for me though I bet it's awesome with a console controller. On the other hand, keyboard is handy for chatting.

If I were planning to buy it, it would be on the PC. I've beta'd both versions, and I don't like the PS3 version -- I hate the control scheme, and the game frequently locks up my entire console.

Not that it matters... I'm not going to buy either version. While fun for a few hours, it becomes boring quite quickly.
