I hope SWTOR has as little PvP as possible.

PvP ruins MMOs.

Look at WoW, Champions online, Global agenda, Age of Conan, etc. It is the root of the problem with these games.

Dont get me wrong I like SOME PvP. but when developers start balancing character classes around PvP or adding a special stat (resilience) just for PvP it ruins the game for the rest of us.

Also the more skilled players (hackers?/exploiters?) make PvP so unapprochable for new players that they just quit altogether. Nobody likes dying 2 seconds after they spawn into the battle-ground or getting slaughtered over and over and over by people who exclusively PvP.

@Nicks87

Sounds like you died in pvp too many times.

Good PvP:
Instanced battlegrounds
Open pvp lakes (optional)

Bad PvP that ruins MMO's:
Permanent death
Losing items
Open world ganking so high levels/gank squads rule everything
WoW arena-based pvp

Beats the hell out of beating on an oversized mob for hours, then move when his face turns red or some other variation of the same thing, plus PVE is programmed to let you win if your gear is good enough and you look up the boss fight online.

@Nicks87 (thought of more)

"getting slaughtered over and over and over by people who exclusively PvP."

Welcome to video games, if you do it more, you're better at it than people that dont, you want a PVE-based game where a casual or noob can go into pvp and have a fair fight against people that are true pvpers and not pve carebears
