yes i think "Playstation 2 hardware limitations" became really annoying issue and big obstacle for any plans for new boxed expansion
still im hoping for 1 or 2 new zones for 90~99 content although SE think they can getaway with a re-skinned zones as long they are fun

Considering that the FFXI population scoffed at XIV and remained in Vana'diel, and most other MMO gamers have already moved on, never to look back at XIV or XI for that matter. The only players remaining for Square-Enix to tap into future XIV population are those still playing XI, minus the few that are sticking it out Eorzea or like myself that are still confidant XIV will eventually be turned around and are awaiting til then to return.

What I think SE should do is spend the next year or two, more-or-less, transferring every great system from XI into XIV, as they should have done to begin with, and maybe even go as far as a complete class & group-combat change back to XI style. Scrap XIV's current design and make it more like XI.

In the mean time, make a final epic storyline for FFXI, that will cap players are 99, ending the story and basically the game entirely.{since traditionally all FF games end at 99} Still leaving a few worlds alive for those that still wish to play it or are new/returning and making their way through the content.

Once XIV is finally as it should be and more like XI, maybe then the Vana'diel population will make the journey to Eorzea and a new epic chapter begins...
