Blizzard has kept its newest MMO project under tight wraps despite some corporate leakage earlier this month. However, Destructoid seems to have a confirmation from World of Warcraft's Executive Producer Frank Pearce that Titan is the name of the company's next big project. Pearce told Destructoid, "Titan... the media is not supposed to know anything about that. It's our next-gen MMO, and we've only started talking about it in a limited fashion because we wanna leverage the fact that we're working on something like that for the purpose of recruiting, getting some of the best talent in the industry on that project."
However, Titan may only be an internal title for the -- obviously -- massive project. The title is not meant to replace WoW, according to Blizzard President Mike Morhaime. "We think that World of Warcraft can continue co-existing with our new MMO," he said in a GameTrailers interview at BlizzCon 2010.
Massively will be sure to keep you informed as more news becomes available.

I think its a safe bet that Blizzard realizes that even they can't make something that will be a true "Wow-Killer". World of Warcraft, while fundamentally a good and interesting game, owes alot of its success of being the right game in the right place at the right time.

I wonder if it can actually work? It seems most things that blizzard tries to do outside of warcraft/starcraft/diablo fizzle.

I am going to bet that it is going to be PC and console based.

I'm still thinking its probably the long denied, yeah suspiciously possible StarCraft MMO, like you said.. they pretty much do three things. Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft.
Blizzard isn't really known for creating new IPs, more for reusing, changing and fundamentally imrpoving their existing titles.

Um, sorry? LucasArts & BioWare have to do with Blizzard how? And how exactly would Blizzard benefit from lying? What reason would they have? I'm sorry that you somehow came to the assumption that I'm gullible just because I believe what Blizzard says about their own project, when I really have no reason not to.

Its not lying, its just the way the industry works. The same way that Blizzard denied they were working on Starcraft 2 until they were ready to state they were working on SC2. This is nothing exclusive to any one company, it just happens. And until they specifilly state the nature of their product, buying into a denial is pointless since chances are 50/50 that they are working on that exact thing.
Sides, coming at it from a different angle, following the release of very successful SP games an MMO in that vein may very will win over sales because its a brandname still fresh in peoples memories.

@Jaimie The only thing I trust Blizzard to do is anything that they think will make them money. Other than that I don't think it's smart to trust any company very far, their goal is to make money and that's that. If they think denying that it is a Starcraft MMO and then making it that will make them $ then they will. However, I imagine that it will probably be a new IP with a lot of similarities to WoW and/or other Blizzard products. Kind of the same way that WoW's talents were pretty much the same thing as the skill points system in Diablo 2.
