As someone who rolled wolf and has played since mid january, switch off wolf as soon as possible, I regret rolling wolf everyday.

Big real estate, hard to open bank in 3rd person, hard to juke people(this is the big huge reason). The archery is nice but not enough offset. Looking down to hit alfar with melee is another bad problem.

6 weeks is nothing especially if its done again with the knowledge of your first noob experience. I'm way to far into my character to change now, but once race changes are offered(probably for money) I'm rerolling pronto barring huge changes to wolves.

@Nitsud

Yeah melee is a little trickier compared to my alt. I'd love if they offered race changes but that's the first I've heard of that.

They are going to change hitboxes I am sure before they implement race change. If not 99% of the server will be alfar and mirdain.

Hitboxes have been changed twice, first to acomodate size Vs. melee reach, and secondly to fix several crouch/jump issues with hitboxes.

other then taht they mentioned racial changes "if/when" they change racial bonusses and diversivication to such a point that it's warrented.

other then that, i've played Mahirin, Mirdain, orc, dwarf and Alfar. Besides Mirdain i feel Orc is the best choice.

Even though I don't have time to play this game as much as I did in the past, I still keep in installed and updated. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part, but I've had so much fun in this game, I always think I may have a chance to play again.

I find I need at least a four-hour block to get anything done. Since I am on an academic schedule, I used to do my resource gathering while (mining, chopping wood, etc.), while working at my desk with the game running.

As you pointed out, Jef, you have to be a bit more than a casual player to make substantial progress in this game. And maybe that's why I love this game so much, ironically. The start icon is right there on my desktop next to whatever more casual-friendly game I'm playing at the moment.

Maybe I'll pop back in during the winter vacation when it's just too damn cold to go outside...

They just released another update about offline-skilling. Said that stats/skills will be added and that people will be awarded meditation points from doing things like turning in a quest. It just came out so it is still being balanced but I cannot wait to see the end result!

From the sounds of it, someone could probably just do the daily quest once a day and have enough offline meditation for a day so that would help a casual player so much! 2 hours a day required for 24/7 skill gains? Sounds great if they balance it out right.

One thing for sure, I never want to do anything like debuff a mob for hours like I did to get witchesbrew ever again. For me, that is definitely a game killer. I am fine with long-term progression and prefer that but if people are having to do things that they do not want to do (like debuff mobs for witchesbrew) than that is something that is seriously wrong.

About the title quests, I just wanted to say that they do not seem to be something that someone would want to complete. This was one of the mistakes that I had made. Pick one attribute that you want to raise, and do those chain quests, but do not do any more than that because you can only wear one title at a time and you will hinder your development by wasting SEVERAL HOURS of waiting for respawns. The mobs will be too easy for you, if you do all of the title quests. Its like choosing to stay level 10 when you could have reached 20 by now if you went into a different zone.

@covertAHhps

At the time I thought they gave pretty decent coin rewards (between 2000 and 3000 gold as I recall), though now that I've run some dungeon groups and split the loot that doesn't seem like a lot of money. Also the toggled stat buffs were nice, at least for someone in their first week or two.
