Now that the NDA is lifted I am safe to say I really dont like the game at all.

Its too slow and boring with the quests and its not as good as CoH or CO in my personal preference.

@Doba I gotta say I disagree.... I got in today and the pace in this game is super fast, imo... and I played COH for a long time... It's downright gorgeous, and the world is creative and fun to explore... also if you're playing on PC then it might not be as fun because the controls and pace of this game were meant for a controller... The voice acting is pretty good (What isn't placeholder voices anyway) and the gear system is reallllly awesome... a new take on rare gear, something that a super hero MMO has had trouble taking on in the past.

I like what I see so far.

@Doba I have to agree with Doba. While I still do like the game (probably not enough to warrant paying a subscription for it though), I do find the combat to be pretty boring and seeming like an old 90's arcade game. I know a lot of people like to claim it has unique action and combo's. But is there really any difference to performing a combo button mash, then to performing power rotations in games like CoH or WoW? There seems to be more combo's and tactics playing my old Affliction Warlock, then DCUO's "action combat".

I tried the PS3 version today, I think it even seems slower on the PS3. While the button mashing is much easier on the controller, the movement is much smoother with a keyboard/mouse. Going through the interface in the PS3 was a real chore and I didn't even try the chat system.

It's shame because the game world looks incredible, but after the newness wears off after 2-3 weeks of playing, I couldn't see me wanting to stick with it longer then a month. I fear it's just going to be another game with a huge successful launch, that burns out in under 2 months with another mass exodus. =(

@evanset6 Wait 2 weeks until you're sitting at cap with nothing to do but try and complete group repeatables in a glacially slow grind for superhero armor... repeatables that are buggy and broken, I might add.

You're right though... it's a great game for a bit. However, it really does have some huge problems mechanically, and once you hit the end, it's tedious and dull. An end, by the way, that comes faster than any end in any game I've ever seen.

I would just like to say that now that the NDA is lifted I can say that I really am enjoying the game. The PVP is great, and the action is fast and the quests are way better then CO. Also the nice thing is that there are not loads of hoods hanging out on the rooftops.

@Doba you get to pvp from the get go basically, right after the tutorial. Though CCon99 might be right, if they dont keep the content coming its going to end fast, especially with a lvl cap of 20

@Scott Ossington

The level cap is 30. Pre-orders are capped at 20. Closed beta has access up to 30. At some point Pre-order server will scale up to 30. Closed beta did the same process.

People either seem to love or hate this game. I personally like it a lot. Its not a typical mmo and its nothing like the other 2 superhero mmo's. What i like is its fun from the get go.

This is going to be my casual, non-fantasy mmo. I've been having a blast with it, to me it's much more fun than CoX or CO ever were. Until it has a bunch more content, I don't think it'll lend itself well to hardcore gamers but 2 or 3 times a week and it will keep me entertained for a long time.

@chum
Weeks? I hit the cap in under three days. Hehe. I got to the point where I had every power I needed two days after that... at which point? Why should I keep collecting feat points by doing the same stuff again and again for abilities that I never am going to use.

Very confusing, and in my opinion, unfinished and glaringly so game.

@DiscordSK I'm not seeing where I lost you. 2 or 3 times a week, casual playing a couple hours at a time. The game fits me perfectly and it will keep me busy for a while. Your play style demands more content and that's fine. Not the game for you.

So when does someone besides Failplanet get keys for this bad boy?
Massively? Can you rustle up some DCUO keys??

Kind of silly that the only way to test it is to pre-order it.

No, that's the only way to be *guaranteed* to be able to test it. I was invited as a random closed beta participant after applying through the site months ago.

Still falling on the pro side of the debate on this title, but still not ready for a launch and subscription in my opinion. Some of the bugs were fixed in the patch this past week which was nice, and like any patch some new ones appeared, but I have been lucky to not encounter to many bugs causing a crash. One nice change I noticed is certain skills that add to stats now have a mouse over tool tip telling exactly how much one point adds such as +25 Health for each point. That to me is at least better then 'each point adds to your overall health'. I really hate lack of detail when things really are just a number game underneath all the polish and presentation.

I am still having issues though with some of the power choices, primarily the pairing the two power trees with one power set. While I understand their decision preventing say a fire/ice character, about the only thing I liked from Champions was the ability to truly choose anything with your points. There is still diversity by limiting only 6 powers active at a time, but I do notice how alot of characters are similar simply due to the binding power sets.
